It was located on the main street of Tynemouth. We could see the sea at the end of the road. We were not disturbed by noise. There were lots of well rated cafes and restaurants. The owner was very friendly, available and helpful without at any point being intrusive. He went out of his way to make us feel at home and to provide what we needed. We were very pleased and would return if in the area.

Brilliant find. Located right on the high street next to many bars & restaurant yet very quiet in the rooms. Lovely host who was very welcoming. Well appointed rooms and gorgeous breakfast taken in the tea room which is a hidden gem. Will definitely return

A very nice place in a very good position, I was given a very warm welcome when checking in and shown to my room. The hotel is clean and very well looked after. I would have no hesitation in recommending staying here if you are visiting the area.

Fabulous stay, everything from the exceptional service, to the room, cleanliness, location and breakfast, we couldn't fault a thing! We stayed in The Collingwood room, the balcony has an amazing view, and the room had lots of lovely extra touches. We were celebrating my partners birthday, the team at Tynemouth 61 went above and beyond to make it extra special, bringing him a cupcake and a card at breakfast, the singing was fab too 😁 Thankyou so much, we will definately be back, look forward to seeing you all again soon. mysrlf and my wife had a overnight stay at 61, we were greeted by the host who explained all about the hotel and the surrounding pubs snr restaurants, the room was clean and well furnished, we dropoed our bags freshened up and headed out to a pre booked place on the sand at Rileys fish Shack, if you are looking for good food with a twist, i would highly recommend it, following the meal and a trip around the local pubs, we headed back for a good nights rest, the following morning we headed down stairs to the quaintly decorated breakfast room where we were srved a delicious full breakfast. we will be Deffinately returning to Tynemouth and stoppingat No 61

Fantastic location right in the centre of Tynemouth high street. Spoilt for choice of where to eat and drink and central location for amazing walks along the the north east coast. Even though on propriety of front street and I room on the front, the secondary glazing eliminated any noise.

Could not recommend Number 61 enough! The owner went the extra mile for us and offered up many recommendations of places to eat, drink and visit in Tynemouth. The room had everything we needed for our stay and was in a perfect location - right next to the beach and many bars and restaurants. The cherry on top for our stay was the outstanding breakfast included. There is a choice of a number of hot breakfast options as well as continental options and lots of tea and coffee. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Tynemouth.
