First, they promised early check in when I booked and went back on their word! They said check in can be done anytime from 9 am. So I made plans based on that. When asked the answer was ‘we were not fully booked when we promised and now we are fully booked’!

Arrived during the heatwave and room was sweltering. They had opened the windows but had a thick blind stopping the air getting in. The blind also couldn’t be opened unless you had a way to prop it up. We ended up using a back pack. Only one towel was provided. Two old, flat pillows were on the bed. When we asked for extras we were told no as the hotel was full and had no spares or could take from another room. Shower screen was broken and didn’t close properly. TV in room is pointless as you need WiFi to watch and the wifi is rubbish. Room was fresh and felt like it had been recently painted. Although it did feel like a cupboard with a bed in. Ironic as we were staying there to go and see Harry Potter show.

The rooms are clean, well kept and fairly modern with a TV in each room and a large sized bed which was very comfortable. However, we arrived during a heatwave, and it must be noted that this property is listed as having air conditioned rooms, which is not true- the room got very hot overnight and we couldn’t sleep (not the hotel’s fault, but air conditioning should not be advertised if it doesn’t exist- this was our only reason at the time for booking). The listing also says tea and coffee facilities are available in the room, which is not true- the room only had a bed, and a TV, no extra amenities (no kettle, fridge etc). Check in is also listed wrong (1pm not 9am as it says on the booking). We went down for dinner only to be told the kitchen was closed because it was too hot, so there was no food available either.

Staff were excellent and got a free welcome drink from the bar which was a bonus. Rooms were good size and it’s ideal for a base. The only issue was there was no Air con and it’s been really hot. Tube station 20 min walk. Good parking would stay again.

Parking good, food good, staff excellent, rooms tiny and awful smell, not given the room we booked even with 10 days notice, lots of stairs, extremely noisy with the dj no chance of sleep till after midnight (Saturday night)ciuld be really nice if owner took notice of the bad reviews and addressed issues.

Nothing bad at all really to say about the place, clean bed and room for the night. Not for some, but if you want something 10 minutes walk from the Tube and 30 minutes from the centre of town, you're laughing. Clean, not too noisy. Just the only thing was the room was like an oven and it was only April and mildly warm. Heated floor couldn't be switched off in the room, asked at the bar and was told someone would come and look, nobody did. I'd say the hotel may want to buy some fans and stick them in the wardrobes. That's literally my only critique. Oh and if you're struggling with stairs, it won't be for you!

The room has been refurbished and looked okay, however there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and when I asked about a kettle I was told there was a kitchen near to our room with a fridge and microwave, I checked and it was marked staff only and didn’t have a kettle any way. The room was very noisy all night with music and noise from the pub and people coming and going to the small hours. There was a cigarette disposal unit right in front of our window where people gather to smoke and extinguish cigarettes. One of the single beds prevented closure of the bathroom door. No hot water available when I wanted to take a shower or to the sink. We left to find somewhere to get a coffee and breakfast and then went back to the pub, We went to go inside to report the problems and a young girl stood out front telling us they didn’t open until 11am,we said that we were going to check out as it was very noisy and there were no facilities or hot water, her answer was Again…and then no problem, to which I replied it is a problem but she wasn’t interested and carried on texting on her phone. To call the place a Hotel is a complete stretch of the imagination as hotels belong to the hospitality industry and we had none, it is not even a B&B. Just rented rooms. The owners need to look at it with fresh eyes to see what is needed when guests stay! Refurbishing rooms alone does not make it a Hotel/ place to stay. The only good point was a free drink on arrival,
