Lovely hotel with delightful staff. Room well equipped with tea coffee milk and biscuits. Unfortunately the lift was out of order but this was not a huge problem. The food served is very nice with a good choice but there also plenty of good restaurants close by.

Very very friendly staff ; breakfast exceptional ; rooms in good condition, tho carpets maybe a little tired. Bathrooms looked new and refurbed. Little touches are what make the difference, and the staff clearly really care. I would 100% return.

We had a fantastic stay here to celebrate my Wife's birthday. Hotel is located really close to all Malvern facilities like the theatre, shopping, evening entertainment and access to the hills. We booked the "delixe apartment" but internally atvthe hotel this is known as the "Hideaway" It is actually a 3 bedroom apartment with beautiful period features like dormer windows bit the important elements have been lovingly refurbished recently. Beautiful master bedroom with comfy bed, quality bedding, modern shower room with rainfall power shower, separate modern toilet, beautiful lounge area and a fridge and tea and coffee facilities. Sweets and chocolates along eith biscuits were left in the room too. The apartment is at the very top of the 150 year old building and offers views across the hills. The staff we met at the hotel seemed genuinely interested in making our stay a positive one, wishing my wife a happy birthday, giving advice for bars and restaurants in the area, detailing walking routes across the hills and allowing us to use the small onsite car park. Breakfast is lovely and ordered from a menu but the times are quite prompt and early, especially for a weekend with a 9.30 finish and 9am on weekdays. I understand a family run hotel wants to focus the breakfast period but some guests will find (and did find) it a struggle to make it on time! Cooked Breakfast consisted of good quality, i assume, local ingredients, with some nice home made muesl. We will return.

Lovely clean room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with a nice selection of cold food followed by lovely cooked breakfast with table service. The car park was not easy to manoeuvre a big car in and out of being on a slope.

Our second stay at GMH, we stayed in the hideaway, which was very spacious and had a great bathroom. Breakfast is great and cooked to order. The only disappointment was that they couldn't accommodate us for an evening meal. Tables were laid out and reserved. But there were plenty of tables free, in the bar and the nook (think it's called that), which we thought could have been laid for us as we were guests. So we had to wander around to find somewhere to eat before our show. Never mind

If you're looking for a small-town English hotel experience, the GMH delivers. It captures "old world" charm, though it comes with unique quirks to be prepared for. We stayed in the massive “Hideaway” suite with 3 bedrooms and a living room. It was clean and the bed was comfortable, but it does show its age in "charming" ways. For example, there was a bit of sagging plaster on the ceiling and a hole behind a bookcase. The bathroom was large with modern fixtures and a great shower. The breakfast was a highlight. It’s served in a lovely room and included, allowing you to order a fresh breakfast off a menu. Jeremy, the manager, is very much a "character." He is very knowledgeable about the area and provided excellent local suggestions. He is clearly proud of his country and community. However, be prepared for a very dry, sometimes sharp English wit. As Americans, we had a few interactions that felt a bit "salty", including some unsolicited lessons on "proper" cutlery etiquette and comments about Americans in general. While some might find his sarcasm a bit jarring, we took it as part of the eccentric local experience. If you go in with a sense of humor and don't take the "instruction" personal, he adds a certain color to the stay that you won't find at a corporate chain. The on-site parking is a plus, and the location is excellent. If you enjoy a hotel with a strong personality, you’ll love it here. Just be ready for a bit of "education" on your table manners!

Great pint of HPA ( local brew ) and a fair price concidering other hotels i have stayed in. Well, as for breakfast....the best i have had in a hotel for a long time. Evening meals are ok, menue needs to change, there are specials but i suppose i stay there too offten. Downside is limited parking, can't be helped due to location. If small car park is full plenty of on road parking 2 min walk away. This place is amazing worth a stay or 2 or even 3.
