Friendly at reception when I arrived, carried my case to my room on the 3rd floor , shame about the late night/early morning bar next door, very loud and noisy.

The best ever reception staff in Ramsgate. Clean room with a wonderful view of the harbour. We felt like very special guests. Booked this for a festival in Margate so it was a short taxi ride there and back and staff so kindly helplful in organising transport. I definitely recommend it.

Nice hotel excellent location staff really friendly and helpful only downside is no air con on hot days and if you have your window. Open you can here the music from local bars til 4am on a weekend but this isn't the hotels fault and it wasn't enough to keep us awake. On the whole we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily come back.

Perfect location opposite the harbour and close to the beach. Good bars and restaurants on the doorstep and walkable into town or the theatre.

The Royal Oak Hotel is a mixed bag. It’s got generous-sized rooms, but the place feels a bit tired and worn out — a bit tatty, and in need of some refurbishment. There was some noise from the surrounding area in the evening, which might be an issue if you’re a light sleeper. One real gem nearby is Penelope, a lovely little wine bar just around the corner. It has a laid-back, effortlessly stylish vibe and wouldn’t be out of place in Whitstable — think natural wines, simple small plates, and thoughtful decor. A perfect spot to unwind after a walk along the seafront. Also worth mentioning is The Brasserie on the Dock — an old-school, family-run restaurant with friendly service and solid value. The food isn’t fancy, but it’s comforting and done well, and the warm welcome makes a real difference.

The room overlooking the harbour was fine but the noise and vibration from the music coming from the nightclub next door and area outside the hotel made it very hard to get any sleep and continued all night until about 4.00am on Saturday morning. Decided to check out after one night and didn’t stay for the second night that had been booked. Hotel should be upfront about the noise issue.

Friendly staff, very helpful and any concerns were acted on immediately. We were given double rooms even though only booked single rooms which was a nice bonus. There was a rubber bath non-slip mat in the wardrobe in the bedroom (strange place to be) which was breaking up and I let the hotel know on check out that I had placed it on top of the bin as needed to be thrown away and replaced with a new one. The kettle in my room was also not working on arrival so I called the staff and they immediately replaced this. The brown covering on the bath side panel was coming away as was no longer sticking. But excellent water pressure. The hotel decor/fittings etc. are a little old and tired and so a little attention to detail/ cleanliness is needed. Overall a really nice stay with good value for money and really good staff.

It was ok but that’s all. Too expensive for what it was. Needs updating throughout.

The hotel itself was very tired but the young gentleman that greeted us was very helpful and polite and just because of him we would stay there again. It is situated by a lovely harbour but the town was sad.

Paid for a superior room got a room with no dressing table, Sofa had stains on it (From god knows what) Bed ok. No dining facilities, No bar, 3rd Floor no lift, One key card and needs to be used inside hotel corridors, Front desk not manned, No room makeover or replenishment, dry towels, tea coffee etc unless asked for - again nobody on front desk and the view from a superior room is brickwork and seagull dung. Def will not use again and many better options about. Just don't bother unless you want to rent a room for an hour - maybe that explains the stains on the sofa

Check-in was easy, they even let us check-in early at no extra cost. Room was cozy and clean. I would stay again. Although the hotel doesn't have any parking there's plenty of car parks around.
