Arrived at hotel early evening, got to room to find tv not working, spoke to receptionist who looked at it whilst we were out for food, I told them it wasn't too much of a problem as I could use my laptop. Returned to hotel reception stated there was a problem with the TV. I said it was ok ill use my laptop. Room was basic with a handbag in the room separate from the shower in toilet, fan in shower stays on for an hour fater Turing all off, theres a constant blue light coming from an electric mirror that you cannot turn off, then there are 2 very bright spotlights shining up at the hotel from the front which emit so much light, that comes through sides and top of closed curtains. I tried to explain this the the manager in the morning who was really quite aggressive towards me.. stating tv was working etc, it was me not turning it all on correctly, even though I was told by night receptionist it wasn't working, 10 mins later the night receptionist had an aggressive go at me too... all in all a very poor night's sleep plus very very poor customer service skills by the management.

Lovely boutique style hotel quirky decor communal areas very nicely designed. Our room on the ground floor was small with the wash basin in the bedroom not in the bathroom. Towels changed and house keeping done daily. Lovely dining room the Full English Breakfast was good although a little pricey. No evening meals. The bar area and lounge was welcoming and comfortable. The outside area inc swimming pool was not in use, possibly too early in the season (11 - 15 May). A few parking space’s are available at the back of the hotel, first come basis. The staff were welcoming and friendly, especially Ewan who was very attentive during our 4 night stay Ideal location for getting to Shanklin’s beach front esplanade and to Shanklin old town with its small local shops, pubs and cafes.

This hotel is well situated and the reception and bar areas are top class. The staff also are not to be faulted, providing a warm welcome and nothing too much trouble. The bedroom and decor however, leave much to be improved upon. Poor paint finishing, a wash basin in the main bedroom area separate from the shower and toilet, a dreadfully weak shower and a strange pump noise going on throughout the day/night intermittently. All easily remedied which would make this welcoming hotel one of the best in Shanklin I reckon.

Friendly staff. The lounge and bar area seemed recently renovated. Room was a bit outdated but the price was reasonable.

Lovely hotel with fab bar area and outside seating, room was snug but had everything we needed and very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful, only minor issue is that property is not wheelchair accessible, althought they are ramps getting into main entrance involves getting up quite a big step, otherwise very nice hotel

A lovely hotel in the perfect location with helpful, pleasant staff. The rooms however are tired and need an update to reflect the downstairs of this hotel. The shower has no pressure, the toilets are run on a very noisy macerater and generally the rooms require a total refurb which i understand from the new Managers is in hand.

Cosy chic hotel smells Devine and staff lovely, Can’t rate amenities or breakfast as the spa and breakfast wasn’t available due to coming out of season.

Clean room Friendly staff Decor inside modern and fresh. The entrance was decorated tastefully and included a lounge and bar area all of which looked new and fresh. There was also a dinning area but we did not use this during our stay. The bathroom in our room (room 2) was small and could do with a face lift. I wonder if this is planned as the room itself has been modernised but the shower room hasn't. Room had a sea veiw between building's which we liked. We arrived at the parking (which we found out is the back of the hotel) there wasnt many signs how to get to the front (there is a sett of metal stairs in the side and beyond that a alleyway that leads you to the side and on to the front. Some signs may be helpful. The car park seems recently renewed. Lovely hotel in a nice seaside town. Close to the town itself and beach.

Found the room quite claustrophobic with a very small bathroom and basin in bedroom. No food available as I was the only guest staying. Staff were very nice. Do not think I will stay there again.

We stayed in 3 single rooms . These were small but mostly ok. All our beds were really comfortable and a good size and clean. One room didn't have a chest of drawers or a shelf in closest to put any folded cothes away and all lacked a chair . The rooms were pretty dark . The showers were hot and the pressure not bad . Overall for what we paid generally happy. and the staff so friendly . Breakfast also lovely .

The décor in the hotel was quirky but good. Staff very nice and helpful. The breakfast was good. Comfortable bed. If you are an early riser the WiFi is not switched on nor is the hot water till about 6 o'clock. Shower screen very dirty. Steamer Inn, Shanklin on sea front had a very nice menu, go down in the lift and it's on the right.
