We enjoyed our stay. We were on Level 7 and the room was large and very clean. It was in good condition and everything worked. The staff were very helpful in resolving a couple of minor issues. There are lots of restaurants and ATM's close by. The rooftop pool and restaurant had great views all around. Our only complaint is that it was missing some things that would have made it 5 stars. Other than basic shampoo, soap and a kettle, there was nothing else. No hair dryer or iron, no refrigerator (although some rooms seemed to have one), not even any coat hangers. It did have a safe.

Lovely staff who sorted the broken WiFi in our room and the deposit box and getting extra loo roll (hardly any left on the roll) and pool towels. Room we had was very spacious. Hotel pool tiles fallen / falling off. All needs a bit of a revamp but absolutely fine for 3*!

I arrived at the property at 1am after a long flight and was told that the hotel was fully booked and could not give us a room. The manager of the hotel offered to transfer us to another hotel and will arrange a room for us in the new hotel. I went to the new hotel. The staff there said they could not offer us a room until they receive a confirmation from the overbooked hotel. We waited for three hours, the manager of the overbooked hotel ghosted us and left us in the lobby for three hours. At the end, I paid walk in price USD 115 for a room in the new hotel myself which the rate was much higher than booking online. The overbooked hotel just ghosted us and still did not give us back the money. Total scam, the two hotels are setting up traps to trap tourist money. I contacted Expedia and got no follow up, it seems that Expedia is trying to cover the things up.

🇬🇧 A more european standard compared to other accommodations in Sri Lanka. Breakfast has been really good. I missed a good coffee in Sri Lanka but I got one here. Employees do their best Room with direct view of the ocean, small shops nearby and just a few meters to the beach. Nice, sandy beach, liked swimming but attention: Inform yourself about currents in bad weather. There is lifeguard nearby. We weren't there in main holiday season -> more of the pool for us (sunset/dawn nice view!), quick service but also e.g. Cocktail bar not opened then, not all of the meals on the menu supplied but quality portions to eliminate hunger of grown men. 🇩🇪 Im Vergleich zu anderen Unterkünften in Sri Lanka eher europäischer Standard. Das Frühstück war wirklich gut. Es gab sogar brauchbaren Kaffee. Die Mitarbeiter geben ihr Bestes. Zimmer mit direktem Meerblick, kleine Geschäfte in der Nähe und nur wenige Meter zum Strand. Schöner Sandstrand, Schwimmen war gut, aber Achtung: Bei schlechtem Wetter auf Strömungen achten. Ein Rettungsschwimmer ist in der Nähe. Wir waren nicht in der Hauptsaison dort -> mehr Pool für uns (Morgen- und Abendämmerung mit schöner Aussicht!), schneller Service, aber z. B. war die Cocktailbar noch nicht geöffnet, nicht alle Gerichte auf der Speisekarte wurden angeboten, aber die Portionen waren groß genug, um den Hunger erwachsener Männer zu stillen.

Hotel Review: I stayed at this hotel for one night and was quite disappointed, especially given its 9/10 rating. The hotel looks old and run-down, though the staff were friendly and helpful. My room had several issues: the sheets and pillows were dirty, it smelled of fresh paint, and the bathroom had a strong humidity odor. I had to ask for air freshener three times before anything was done. The air conditioning was either freezing or noisy, and I had to pay 1500 LKR for Wi-Fi in the room since the free lobby Wi-Fi wasn’t working. I didn’t have a hairdryer so I asked the staff for one and they gave me one with the europe plug. The gym was outdated, and the hotel is located next to a bar, making it very noisy at night. Breakfast was average at best, with poor coffee and juice. Only one towel was provided per person, and I had to request a bath mat. There were some positives, like the large bed, two free bottles of water, a fridge, and a kettle, but the pool area lacked enough sunbeds. I initially chose this hotel based on its high reviews, but I can’t understand how it was rated so well. While I realize standards vary by country, this stay fell well below expectations. I won’t be staying here again.
