The staff were very helpful, but the other residents hung outside our room until late in the night and it was disturbing. The bed was uncomfortable and we didn’t really use any of the amenities because we were only there one night.

A historic building located in the city close to the castle. Beautiful double room which was clean, large and surprisingly very quiet. Power shower in room was excellent. A little pricy but well worth it in the end

Friendly, welcoming, spacious twin en-suite room, comfortable beds, well organised & clean kitchen . Will definitely stay again.

The staff were very thoughtful and helpful.

We knew it was a hostel, but room was very tiny, bunk beds were very small too, you hit your head all the time, also sounded a lot when moving on the bed. On the other hand, the floor was cracking on every step you made. Positive feedback, it's a walkable distance from downtown and train station, keep in mind that is an uphill walk. Also, very close to historical places like Edimburgh Castle.

Close to town center. Parking can be tricky, but its in a lovely area.

Stayed as a family with my 11 year old daughter. We were comfortable and loved the location, proximity to the old jail and castle, and the character and history of the hostel.

Great easy stay

It was ok. Friendly well mannered staff. Good kitchen and dining area. shared a room with four men. There were only two lockers and the floor was unbearably creaky. I mean every step creaked really loudly. Totally spoiled the experience for me Room 211 sort it out! And a few hooks attached to the wall or even the bed would be so usefull.

What a surprise! This is a beautiful property located right next to the Castle. Easy to get to, nice big kitchen, clean, and safe. The staff was so friendly— we couldn’t ask for more!

Bit expensive for the twin room for what you get.

Twin room was tired, i have stayed here before in a 4 man room which was much better, the shower was powerful but only luke warm also i could not get WiFi signal in the room, went to a local pub for tea and downloaded some films. Not the staffs fault at all just needs management to throw some money at it.

Amazing! I only property conditions a 4/5 star because the lock on the door to the bathroom adjoining our room got stuck, its a bit loose. So i got trapped in there until someone on the otherside held the handle up so the lock aligned. There wasnt anybody at the desk to tell and im sure they would have fixed it. The girl i roomed with said she would tell them later. But staff were great, facilities were good, and the location is within walking distance of food, more car parks, the jail is nextdoor, ans the castle is a 4 min walk. Id go back again.
