We had a fantastic stay at XVI Suites and would happily stay there again. The hotel is beautifully decorated, with a modern and stylish feel throughout. Our room was comfortable, and had everything we needed. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into the design and little details. The rooftop area is lovely and very nicely decorated. There's also a small swimming pool, which is perfect for cooling off and enjoying the views. The location is great for exploring Malta. The only thing to keep in mind is that parking can be a bit challenging, especially in the evenings when the area gets busier. The staff were amazing, friendly, and welcoming. Breakfast was another highlight. It's served à la carte rather than as a buffet, so everything is freshly prepared and really tasty, with nice options to choose from. Malta itself was much more beautiful than we expected, and XVI Suites was a great base for exploring the island. Overall, a wonderful stay and a hotel we'd definitely recommend to anyone visiting Malta.

We stayed at XVI Suites from 4–10 April and booked this hotel specifically because the pool was advertised as being open from April to October. Unfortunately, on arrival we were informed that the pool would not open until the end of April. When I pointed out that Expedia clearly stated it would be open from the beginning of April, I was simply told that the information was incorrect. After several excuses like ‘it had rained’ there was still no resolution or acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused. What disappointed us most was the complete lack of customer service from management. No apology, goodwill gesture, or even something as simple as a complimentary drink was offered. It’s often the small touches that make a hotel experience feel high quality. I also wish we had paid more attention to previous reviews mentioning the noise. The hotel is located beside a busy roundabout and main road, the constant sound of motorbikes revving, slowing down and accelerating again was extremely disruptive, especially at night. It became so unbearable that we spent several nights in Gozo just to get some proper sleep. There were positives: the rooms were modern, the breakfast was good, and the restaurant staff were friendly. Overall, while the hotel looks stylish and aspires to a higher-end experience, the management and customer service do not match that standard. With so many better hotels service do not match that standard. Book somewhere else!

Breakfast was great. It is à la carte with many good options. Staff were very friendly. Finding a parking at night is easy. During the weekend, you can find a parking but a little further away from the hotel. There are few restaurant in that area that brings the crowd to that area. The hotel is off route 1 right across bus station. It is a good place if you don’t want to stay in a busy town.

Was asked on arrival to block €200 on my credit card for any ‘extras’. I pointed out that there was no mention of this on my booking and in fact it clearly stated that any ‘extras’ would be invoiced at check out. The check in staff member, showed me that it stated this on another well known booking platform. I pointed out that I didn’t book using this platform, so his point was irrelevant. He did accepted this, but to compound the issue and make matters much worse, the next day, while we were out for the day, the hotel cleared out our mini bar. Treating their guests, as dishonest with no evidence for this whatsoever (and when the fault clearly lay with the hotels own information posted online). A lack of class. Such a shame, as the hotel was excellent in every other respect. So disappointing. We did eat in the hotels ‘Elba’ restaurant, but paid our bill at the end of dinner and purchased our own drinks for the room mini bar, subsequently.

It's a new property with nice decor and amenities and tasty breakfast. However, four major shortcomings: - Staff is very mixed. Some very friendly knowing what they do, others have no idea and tell conflicting information. - Rooms very close to the highway with bad insulation. You'll hear the load road even with earplugs. - Water pressure at times non-existent, with dripping water only. - Tech is not thoughts though. AC automatically switches off every mornings, TV accidentally switches on at random times. Clear configurations issues.

Clean room, excellent facilities. Breakfast at restaurant downstairs, excellent food. Caring and helpful staff. Room is equipped with everything you need. Unable to access pool as only from end of April. Definitely recommend!

The staff so friendly and accommodating. The restaurant ELBA went out of their way to be inviting and welcoming even though the restaurant was very busy. It made us feel like special guests. The room was well taken care of, making our stay of 4 nights very pleasant. We also appreciated the location, the Oceanside so pretty.

Terrible parking. Hard to find. Room was clean but there was no mirror to do your hair. Can’t use the outlet in the bathroom so had try to blow dry and curl my hair out in the bedroom area with a make up mirror I had. No attention to detail in the room. Very noisy, could hear every motorbike roaring up the highway.

Beautiful hotel. The room was fabulous. Spotless with lovely comfy bed and pillows and nice betting. Amazing bathroom. Great breakfast. The hotel bar and restaurant was buzzing in the evening and the food looked very nice. Its just in a wierd place. Its only a shirt bus ride to st Juliens which was fine. But the location of thus place although next to a small beach is a bit in the middle of nowhere. Which is a shame because its really good.

Perfect stay

A lovely hotel in a beautifully renovated building. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful. Breakfast was wonderful, plenty of choice & delicious. The rooftop terraces/bar/pool area were very smart. Unfortunately the water in the pool was too cold for me! The Elba restaurant (where breakfast is served) was ideal for evening meals too & we visited the gelateria next door a number of times too. There is a small sandy beach just a short walk from the hotel with another couple of nice restaurants in close proximity. The only slight negative point was that the Coastal road runs quite close to the hotel which made it a little noisy at times especially when motorbikes go past. It did mean though that there were plenty of buses going past the door which made exploring the island very easy!

My stay was everything I’d hoped for and more. My first time in Malta, I wanted a chilled vibe away from the nightlife but for there to still be the option to experience everything the island has to offer. The staff, Muhammad in particular, can’t do enough for you. The room was incredible with private terrace, and kept immaculate daily. The rooftop bar was perfect, with swim up bar, sea view and an amazing selection of professionally made to order cocktails. Cisk is my new favourite beer now too! I toured the island, spent time at The Blue Lagoon, ventured over to Gozo and all with the help of the tips and tricks from the staff. Elba bar served freshly made food, there was a great variety and their pizzas are the best I’ve eaten. I used Bolt to travel on some days for ease and no where is much further than a 20 minute ride away, all very chatty and friendly, sharing their knowledge of Malta. I will definitely be returning. I stayed the first week of June, the temperature was perfect, it wasn’t too busy, always guaranteed a sun lounger and the beach which is a stones throw away was the perfect place to hang out in the day, and watch the sunset at night. I highly recommend XVI Suites.

Property was beautifully renovated! The restaurant and cafe were also excellent. Very convenient after a long day of site seeing. Also great to be outside of busy Valletta. The pool on roof was great offering beautiful views and the staff were extremely helpful. The area was a little chaotic with the beach and kiosks but overall a great experience!

Great pool but it closes too early. Amazing breakfast. Beautiful taste in architecture, decoration. Loved the room, although it wasn't very large.

Exceptional service from all members of staff. We were very well looked after and felt like home. Rooms very spacious and clean. Would highly recommend staying here. Perfect location as you are between all main areas yet out of the summer business of very popular areas. Beach to swim right outside and roof top pool. Amenities were great. Thanks team 🙌
