Horrible experience at the Amenida Residences and looking into a reimbursement. My partner and I stayed with our dog there to go to the Calgary Stampede. The only good thing about this hotel was the location close to the C-Train. The air conditioner did not work in our room and we had to sleep in 26 degrees. Our room was made up without our permission (having the do not disturb sign posted), and we were missing a large towel for one of us afterwards. There was hair in the shower from a past hotel guest, and we were citated on the third floor which made accessing with our dog very unpleasant, although advertised as dog friendly. We were unable to get a luggage cart from the lobby without having to go upstairs, so extremely poor design. The hotel manager assisted us in the end and she was VERY pleasant and thankfully for her, made our thoughts a bit more happy about leaving.

AC wasn’t working in our room, when we arrived it was +27. It took 2 hours and multiple messages to the front to eventually get moved to a room with a portable AC unit, we appreciated that. We also did not have the room we had booked (with a pull out sofa bed, so had to get a cot, which we did appreciate being brought up). The next day I had arranged (and paid extra) for a late checkout but twice we were woken up by housekeeping staff to ask when/if we were checking out. There were also stains all over the floors/gunk on the lamps, no idea what that was. Would not stay here again especially for $250 a night.

They took a deposit on debit card as I have no credit card. I was originally told refund within 24-48 hours. No refund produced. Therefore, I reached out, no refund in 72 hours. I was then told refund to be processed within a week, it has been a week and still no refund. Completely disappointed.

Sufficed for a quickone night stay but would not recommend. Dirty bathroom, temporary ac unit in room that was fed through window, no breakfast, no ice machines, and overall room very worn/rundown.

Excellent location near Stampede grounds. Only a short walk to train and one stop to Erlton station. Evening Stampede fireworks visible from Hotel parking lot.

When we checked in the garbage can was full of dirty pads and tampons. When we went to speak to the cleaner she advised “I am to busy” and handed my husband a garbage bag she flat out refused to help us. Then we went to turn on the AC as the room was really hot, we set it to 16°C. The AC didn’t work at all the fan did but wasn’t actually cold it stayed at 33°C for the duration of our stay. I would not recommend staying here ever.

Pros: Housekeeping nice and did great everyday. Close to station to get to Stampede Cons: super outdated, ice only at front desk, be prepared to haul you luggage up/down stairs/parking lots not lit and had homeless camping in it. Bed not comfy. Stingy with towels had to call for more everyday. Barebones but you get what you pay for. Pictures are not accurate. Had to buy fan AC either worked or didn’t.

It appears the property is undergoing much needed renovations. Our room had a noisy portable air conditioner unit which needed to be refixed to the window. Dining room closed so no food service at all. Room was clean. The best thing of this stay was the convenience to the C Train and getting to the Stampede or into the city.

Prior to my stay, I received an email stating rooms were getting upgraded air conditioners, but some still had portables for the time being which didn’t bother me at all. Upon check in and getting settled in our room, I noticed our portable window air conditioner had been taped up with flimsy plastic, the window screen looked like it had already been propped open and broken into and there was no possible way to close or properly lock your room up ON THE MAIN FLOOR!! This is a major safety concern-especially for the area. We took all our belongings and locked them in our vehicle before leaving the hotel despite all the parking lot signs stating to keep valuables out to prevent theft. I did not feel safe staying at this hotel!!! The only positive I can share is that it is in a great location with LRT station 39 just behind the hotel parking lot. Normally, I would never pay or stay for $240/night to stay in a rundown hotel like this, but the hotel was completely full being Stampede Week and I felt like there weren’t many other options nearby. You live and you learn. Never again.
