No one present at desk, noisy neighbourhood. Late serving breakfast. I broke a glass and reported it. They charged 100 pesos or $7 cad for something worth 10.

This was an experience. We were drawn to the modern Japanese aesthetic and upon arrival it did not disappoint. It is such a beautiful piece of art. There is the element of being one with nature (open air concept) that was very calming and unique. When staying here one should be aware that you are part of the neighborhood/village and so the normal sounds that one would normally hear are present. That wasn’t something that bothered us though. The beach, shops, and restaurants were a close walk away. The service was top tier and the breakfast was a nice touch. We loved San Pancho and this hotel was perfect for our party.

This place was incredible! I loved the concept of an open-air design giving it a smooth connection to nature. The overall aesthetic had a modern Japanese feel with plenty of natural elements that created an inviting environment . The hospitality was outstanding everyone was so welcoming. Plus, its location is perfect just a short walk to the beach while still maintaining that small town community vibe. I’d definitely stay here again!

The staff who work at the facility were wonderful. And it’s very pretty, however the room is very uncomfortable. It’s hard to conceptualize until you are in the rooms, but they are simply two narrow hallways-L shaped and then a bed with sliding doors that you have to crawl into -there is nowhere to sit save a tiny dining set, but it’s not a comfortable room. If you’re 20, it would be a really neat concept however, further along my life, I would prefer a little more comfort. if you need quiet at night, this is not the place. It’s typical Mexican town so at night you’re hearing a lot of chickens, dogs and motorcycles, etc. The rooms don’t have actual walls. They are glass tiles and windows. The bed has fabric sliding doors. So you are out there in the town.

I really liked the design and thought behind this place however… A HUGE downside is the noise. I had booked 3 nights here, and could only handle 2; being woken up at 3am to the beginning of constant and loud roosters crowing and dogs barking. I sleep with ear plugs and it didn’t help. The second night I tried white noise on my phone and that couldn’t mask the sound either. My boyfriend isn’t a light sleeper, yet he laid awake from 3am onward as well. We ended up leaving after the second night. They denied our request for a refund for the last night. The breakfast was a nice touch. The room is very unique and cool. I think the open air concept is interesting, however unfortunately given the surroundings; perhaps not ideal. All this being said, and despite my disappointment in them not allowing a refund…if you’re a heavy sleeper or a VERY early riser - this hotel is nice. San Pancho is great - I was sad it was my first time there and had to cut it short.

This property was so cute and peaceful. A very quiet street. While all of San Pancho is very walkable, this property is over a large hill that you have to try, but if you don't mind that, its a great location. The room was a little tight for unpacking and getting into my suitcase but overall comfortable.

AORA was a wonderful experience and we loved our time there, however there are definitely some pros and cons to consider with staying here! PROS - a beautiful property, stunning decor/aesthetic and open air hotel - the comfiest bed we’ve slept on travelling - the beg is enclosed and can be closed off - loved the Japanese style rooms - incredible rain shower - a filtered water tap in the kitchen to fill water bottles - 15 minute walk from the beach and centre - helpful staff CONS - open air means you do hear all the dogs barking and roosters, the hotel does provide ear plugs which was great of them! But just something to consider if you are a light sleeper - the free breakfast is really just coffee, toast, fruit and jam. Still delicious nonetheless but we had hoped for even some eggs for protein. - there is a big hill to walk up and down to get to the hotel or centre. This was not an issue for us but could be for individuals with more limited mobility - tiny spaces in the rooms, we had one large suitcase between the two of us and it was difficult to find a place to put it to access our clothing without unpacking everything. They do have drawers under the bed which would remedy this, but if you are not wanting to unpack/pack everything it was a challenge Overall we had a pleasant experience at AORA and it was a great spot to explore San Pancho from.

The unique “ Japanese” design was interesting but not very functional for large pieces of luggage. Breakfast was quite limited and it was disappointing when there is so much wonderful tropical fruit available to be served apples.

AORA had been on my radar for a while, as it is a beautiful unusual property, but for various reasons it never worked out to book a stay until now. I can say without a doubt this is my new favorite place. It was absolute heaven. The bed was not only cozy because of the enclosed design, but the quality of the bedding and pillows gave us the best two nights of sleep we have had a months. Also, the SHOWER was incredible. I've never been so excited to get off the beach and take a hot shower with amazing water pressure. The space has incredibly calm energy and the staff was attentive and so pleasant. That being said, you should know San Pancho has a LOT of roosters. This can't be avoided. The open air design definitely means you hear the outside world, but honestly it's nothing a pair of ear plugs can't help with. My bf is a light sleeper (between me, our dog, and the roosters) and he still slept really well! If noise bothers you, you would have to avoid staying closer to town altogether!

I stayed solo here for a few nights and loved it! The design and style of the hotel is really nice, the staff were so lovely. The pool was so aesthetically pretty and the room was really cozy. I was in the room above reception and it had a nice glass wall with lots of privacy. It's in a residential area, about a 15 minute walk from the main part of town/beach. There are some hills and the streets are a bit rocky, but easy enough to walk.

Un diseño muy lindo. Precio accesible pero si fue mucho el ruido que se escucha del estrior y de los mismos huespedes. No pudimos hacer nada porque en domingo el vigilante no trabaja.
