Please be advised that this voucher is NOT a valid travel document or ticket for boarding trains. Below is a quick guide on how to retrieve, add, activate, and use the mobile pass via the Rail Planner App:
Step 1: Download the Rail Planner App on APP Store or Google Play, tap “Get started” and select “Eurail Pass”
Step 2: Select “Add a pass,” then choose “Mobile Pass” and enter the last name and 6-digit pass number (refer to the “Reminder” section on the voucher)
Step 3: Select “Connect a trip” and enter a trip name. A trip serves as an e-folder for multiple train journeys, and each pass requires its own trip
Step 4: Activate the pass by entering the passport number and selecting the first travel day for using the mobile pass for boarding. IMPORTANT: The date selected during booking does not matter. The pass can be activated for any day within 11 months of the purchase date as the first travel day. The first travel day can be canceled anytime before the start of that day at 00:00 CET
Step 5: Go to “Planner” in the bottom menu to search and plan a train journey by entering the departure station, arrival station, date, and time
Step 6: Choose the preferred train journey and tap “Save journey” to add it to “My Trip.” IMPORTANT: Reservations are NOT included with the Eurail Pass. If reservations are required for the selected train journey (marked with “seat reservation required”), book and pay for the seat reservation separately in advance. Seats available for pass holder reservations are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis
Step 7: Navigate to “My Trip” in the bottom menu and add saved train journeys to the pass and ticket for that travel day. Once a saved train journey is successfully added, it will be marked with a yellow light
Step 8: Navigate to “My Pass” in the bottom menu and tap “Show ticket” under the corresponding travel day for inspection. Each travel day has a separate ticket with a QR code, which can be used to access some train stations (e.g., in the Netherlands). IMPORTANT: The ticket inspector will scan the QR code to verify whether the train journey has been added to the ticket. They will also check the seat reservation, personal information, and may request to see the passport
More information about seat reservation, refund policy and FAQs, please refer to the voucher
Seat Reservation: Reservations are NOT included with the Eurail Pass. If reservations are required for a train journey, they must be booked and paid for separately in advance. It is advisable to make seat reservations at least 1-2 weeks in advance during low seasons and at least 4-6 weeks in advance during peak seasons or festival periods, either at departure train stations or via the Rail Planner App
Refund: A refund request may be submitted within 360 days from the purchase date, provided that the Eurail Pass has not been added, activated, or used via the Rail Planner App. For assistance with refund requests, please contact customer service. Note that added, activated, and/or used passes are non-refundable. A pass is considered activated and/or used once the first travel day has commenced (for a Flexi Pass) or when the validity period has begun (for a Continuous Pass), even if no trains have been boarded or if travel days remain. An added and activated mobile pass can still be deactivated at any time before the first travel day within its validity period by canceling all activated travel days in the “My Pass” section of the Rail Planner App
FAQs 1: Can another date be selected as the first travel day, different from the one chosen during booking? Yes, any day within 11 months from the purchase date can be activated as the first travel day during pass activation on the Rail Planner App. The date selected during booking is not significant
FAQs 2: What is a seat reservation? Reservations are mandatory for most high-speed trains, international cross-country trains, and all overnight trains in Europe. Reservations are NOT included with the Eurail Pass. If reservations are needed for a train journey (marked with “seat reservation required”), they must be booked and paid for separately in advance. It is recommended to make seat reservations at least 1-2 weeks in advance during low seasons and 4-6 weeks in advance during peak seasons or festival periods at departure train stations or through the Rail Planner App. Seats available for pass holder reservations are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis
FAQs 3: Is adding a journey to the Pass the same as making a reservation? No, adding a journey to the Pass does not equate to a reservation. If a reservation is also required for the journey, it must be booked and paid for separately. The ticket inspector will request to see the seat reservation when the ticket is shown in the app. If seat reservations are not required, any unreserved seat on board may be chosen (except in 1st class if holding a 2nd class Pass). Adding a journey to the Pass does not guarantee an allocated seat
FAQs 4: What should be done if the phone is lost or broken? If the device containing the Pass is lost or broken, contact the pass seller as soon as possible. Please provide the correct Pass number, last name, first name, and passport number in the initial message. Note that the Pass cannot be transferred to another device once activated and used for travel. The Pass number will be unlinked from the existing phone, and it will need to be loaded onto another device. This process may take 1-3 working days. To board a train in the meantime, a separate ticket must be purchased at your own expense, as refunds cannot be offered in this case. In urgent situations, during non-working hours, or on public holidays, access “More” in the bottom menu of the Rail Planner App, tap “Help centre,” “Contact us,” “Other services,” and “Something else” to fill out an inquiry form detailing the issue and providing the necessary information for assistance
For further instructions, tips, and FAQs, refer to the “Eurail Mobile Pass Pocket Guide & FAQs” (http://rb.gy/jzfuie), the “Eurail Mobile Pass Video Guide” (http://rb.gy/fbkplq), or access the “More” section in the bottom menu of the Rail Planner App to find “Rail network guides,” “Benefits,” “Help centre,” or “Seat reservations"
Failing to follow instructions and guidelines may result in the Pass being invalid for travel. Traveling with an invalid Eurail Pass may subject you to fines or penalties, the need to purchase a full-fare ticket, or both, depending on the rules of the relevant railway or ferry company
In case of dispute, the decision of Traveloka and its suppliers shall be final
