Trunyan Village, located in Kintamani District, Bangli Regency, Bali, is famous for its unique burial traditions among local and foreign tourists. Trunyan Village is known for having a unique burial tradition compared to other villages on the island of Bali. The uniqueness of Trunyan Village is the tradition of simply placing the bodies in the burial area without burying them or holding a cremation ceremony beforehand. There you will see neatly lined up corpses, rows of bones, scattered money, and items that will be left with the bodies. Uniquely, there is no smell of corpses or other unpleasant odors in the burial area. According to local stories, one of the reasons is because in the middle of the cemetery grows a fairly large Taru Menyan tree which has a distinctive frankincense aroma that can eliminate all unpleasant odors in the area.
