Known for being able to recreate the atmosphere from the Heian period, the Esashi-Fujiwara Heritage Park is often chosen as a filming location in Japanese TV dramas and movies. Spanning over 20 hectares, the park recreates the architecture and overall theme of the capital at that period in time. Start your adventure in the park by visiting the Jingseikan, a small-scale samurai mansion. Head to the town hall, the government office which was politically significant in the 12th century. Check out The Gala Imperial Palace, where the nobles once resided. Finally, you may also visit the Golden Hall, a Buddhist temple from the late Heian period.

Take a stroll around the heritage park and see the bright and vibrant flowers and plants throughout the area. Try out different traditional costumes and dress up as ancient nobles and samurai. Enjoy the thrill of shooting through the bullseye with a bow in an archery experience.
