Located in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture, Ritsurin Garden dates back to more than 600 years ago, and is not only classified as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty of Japan, but also regarded as the most beautiful garden in Shikoku. Although it is called as "Ritsurin" (chestnut grove), it is the pines that are usually found in the garden, as there are more than 1,400 pine trees in Ritsurin Garden.

The Garden won the highly recommended grade of 3 stars in the Michelin Guide 2009, and the kaiyushiki (strolling-style) garden is worth the time to make a special trip here.
