Right before reaching Pandawa Beach, also known as Kutuh Beach and Secret Beach, visitors will be awed by limestone cliffs lining both sides of the road. Carved into caves on one of the cliff faces are five statues of the Pandavas, inspired by the Hindu epic of Mahabharata. The white sand beach is popular for not only swimming, but also canoeing, surfing, and paragliding from a nearby hill.

Pandawa Beach 

Located only steps away from Kuta Beach, Beachwalk Shopping Center stands out because of its unique architecture. The mall's open-air design, with its large ponds and cascading gardens inspired by Bali's famed rice terraces, offers visitors some respite from the tropical heat. After shopping and dining, visitors can catch a movie at the cinema or simply watch the sunset while sipping drinks from the rooftop bar.

Beachwalk Shopping Center

Opened in 1997, Puja Mandala symbolizes the harmony and religious tolerance between major religious communities in Indonesia. Five different houses of worship — a mosque, Catholic church, Buddhist temple, Protestant church, and Hindunese temple — lie side by side within the complex. Each place of worship may be entered by tourists, who are expected to dress modestly, depending on prayer and congregation times.

Puja Mandala

Despite being known as a surfing paradise, Suluban Beach maintains an "undiscovered" feel thanks to its unique, cavern-like setting surrounded by limestone cliffs. The white sand beach, informally named Blue Point Beach after a nearby hotel, also features beachside mini caves to take shelter in. Although the waters are safe for swimming, children are not advised to visit the beach as they must pass through narrow pathways and steep stone steps to get there.

Blue Point (Suluban Beach)

Double Six Beach, also known as Blue Ocean Beach, was named after a now-closed nightclub located nearby. This white sand beach is popular among beginner surfers and those looking for somewhere less crowded compared to Kuta Beach. In the afternoon, dozens of colorful bean bags on the beachfront are filled with visitors enjoying panoramic sunset views before heading out to stylish beach clubs and lounges in Seminyak.

Double Six Beach

Like most beaches in Uluwatu, Padang Padang Beach is a popular surfing spot. The beach, known locally as Labuan Sait Beach, gained a following among non-surfers after it was featured in the hit movie, Eat Pray Love. The white sand beach is also famous for its Saturday night parties featuring live reggae music and DJ sets. To reach the shore, visitors must pass through a hollow rock entrance before going down a flight of stairs.

Padang Padang Beach 

Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park is a massive arts complex that has been under construction since 1997. Balinese sculptor, Nyoman Nuarta plans to finish its star attraction, a 120-meter-high statue of the Hindu god Vishnu mounting the mythical bird Garuda, in 2018. Yet, many tourists already flock here to see the massive unfinished statues, watch Balinese dance performances at open-air theaters, or simply enjoy views of southern Bali from the highest point of the complex.

Seminyak Beach is surrounded by classy restaurants, hip beach clubs, and luxury resorts. The beach itself has fewer visitors compared to those in Kuta or Legian, making it seem calmer and more comfortable. Visitors can do all sorts of beach activities here like surfing, sunbathing, playing ball games, or simply watching the sunset with a cold drink in hand.

Seminyak Beach 

Dating from the 11th century, Uluwatu Temple is one of the most sacred Hindu temples in Bali. The temple is known for its dramatic setting — perched on the edge of a cliff, 97 meters above sea level. Hundreds of wild monkeys inhabit the temple and its surrounding forest, snatching cameras and sunglasses from unsuspecting visitors. Every day, the Kecak dance is performed in the temple grounds as the sun disappears into the Indian Ocean.

Uluwatu Temple 

Located right next to Kuta, Legian Beach offers a slightly calmer atmosphere while still being close to the action. A string of family-friendly hotels and restaurants for all budgets are conveniently located near the beach. Visitors can also learn surfing, sunbathe, play beach ball, or watch the sun go down while relaxing on sunbeds dotted along the coast.

Legian Beach

Kuta Beach has been drawing crowds of backpackers and surfers from across the globe for decades. Today, the long stretch of golden white sand remains popular for sunbathing, swimming, or simply watching Kuta's legendary golden sunsets. The area is also known for its busy yet down-to-earth restaurants, shops, night clubs, and bars located along the coast.

Kuta Beach 

Petitenget Beach was named after the sacred Hindunese temple located right next to it. This stretch of gray sand is more secluded than the other beaches further south like Kuta or Legian, yet it remains a popular spot for surfers and sunset-chasers. After the sun goes down, the quiet area comes alive at the stylish restaurants, beach clubs, and resorts nearby.

Petitenget Beach

Known for its golden white sand and clear turquoise seawater, Nusa Dua Beach is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Bali. The coastline is divided into two beaches, Mengiat in the north and Geger in the south — both are ideal for swimming, snorkeling, or surfing. Nusa Dua is also home to some of the most exclusive five-star resorts on the island.

Nusa Dua Beach 

The Bali Bombing Memorial sits on the former site of Paddy's Club, which was destroyed during the 2002 bombings. Also known as the Ground Zero Monument, the memorial consists of a Balinese-style carved stone monument and a black marble plaque listing down names of the 202 known victims. Visitors from across the globe sometimes leave offerings or personal tributes, especially on the bombing anniversary in October.

Bali Blast Monument

Stretching around 4 km north of Nusa Dua, Tanjung Benoa is a popular destination for families. Calm waves and beautiful white sand make the southern part of Tanjung Benoa Beach great for swimming or relaxing. Meanwhile, the north side is known as water sports paradise that offers various fun activities, from banana boating to scuba diving. Caow Eng Bio Chinese Temple, the oldest Chinese temple in Bali, lies near the northern tip of the peninsula.

Tanjung Benoa

Magnificently perched on a rocky limestone cliff, Pura Geger or Pura Geger Dalem Pemutih is one of the most important cultural landmarks in Nusa Dua. The small temple is filled with Hindu priests and pilgrims during major ceremonies such as the Piodalan held every sixth full moon. The outer grounds are always open to visitors, offering beautiful views of Mount Agung on clear mornings.
