ARMA was founded in 1996 by Balinese art collector and philantropist, Agung Rai. It houses paintings and other artworks by notable Indonesian and foreign artists, including Walter Spies and Raden Saleh. Aside from its impressive art collection, the Agung Rai Museum of Art complex also includes a resort, several restaurants, and cultural spaces where Balinese dance classes and handicraft workshops are held regularly.
