Built in French architectural style, the Independence Palace was once the workplace and living place for the French and Japanese colonist-generations. Despite its historic value, tourists are also attracted by its aesthetic surroundings. Walking through the giant cages, you can see a huge neat lawn full of freshly-mown green grass with an ornamental fountain in the center.
