Gedung Sate has stood tall as the icon of Bandung for almost 100 years. Designed by Dutch architect, J. Gerber, the neoclassical building combines Western and Asian architectural elements — including a rooftop ornament shaped like a satay skewer. Today, Gedung Sate serves as the seat of the governor of West Java. Museum Gedung Sate was opened in the basement in 2017, depicting the history of Gedung Sate and Bandung through interactive displays.
