Itinerary & Budget: 2 Weeks in England

Week 1: From London to York, to Manchester

Day 1, Exciting Tower of London Full-Day Tour

You can get around the city, including the Oyster Card, which will let you use all public transport in London at lower prices. Go and grab it at the airport on your arrival.

Today is your first day to explore the heart of England. Plenty of exciting places exist, from museums to street markets and historical sites. Undoubtedly, the Tower of London should be your #1 destination, which played a crucial role in London’s history.

Given the many events at the Tower of London, you might consider dedicating a full day to your tour to make the most of your experience. A stay near the station or convenience store is recommended, as you can fuel yourself with a hearty breakfast before starting your tour.

Day 2, Explore London

Kick off the next day with a tasteful breakfast at Borough Market. Then, embark on your journey to Tower Bridge, known for its mesmerizing architecture and the most iconic bridge in town.

Day 3, Still in London

Day 4, Head out to Manchester

Traveling from London to Manchester takes 4 hours. The first destination is the Machester Cathedral, which offers a tranquil atmosphere and grand architecture. Stroll around and make sure to take memorable photos.

Day 5, Day 2 in Manchester

Call all football enthusiasts on the second day in Machester! The National Football Museum is a must-see one. It showcases the history of football, the oldest FA Cup trophy, and many more fascinating exhibits to explore.

Day 6, York Awaits!

In the morning, after you check out, you can take a train from Manchester to York, which will take at least an hour and a half. While in York, you should visit the City Walls and Shambles Street

Little History 101, The City Walls of York have defended London since Roman times and are known as Bar Walls and Roman Walls. Walking along the City Walls, you can explore the historic Shambles Street, which has housed butchers' shops and homes since the 14th century.

Week 2: Explore Scotland

Day 7, Time for Inverness

After London, York, and Manchester, it’s time for Scotland. There are many interesting towns in Scotland. Scotland has numerous captivating cities, but Inverness stands out due to the legend of Loch Ness.

While here, you can explore The Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition, where six different chambers guide them through the history of Loch Ness, from the ice age era to the present.

To make traveling between tourist destinations more convenietnt, renting a car or motorbike is advisable in Inverness.

Day 8, Continue to Edinburgh

From Inverness, you can take a bus to Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city, which is approximately 160 miles away. The journey takes around 3 hours and 10 minutes, and you can leave in the morning after having breakfast and reach Edinburgh by lunchtime.

Once you arrive in Edinburgh, you can explore several notable religious and historical sites, such as Edinburgh Castle and St. Giles Cathedral. Additionally, you should not miss visiting Holyrood Palace and Arthur's Seat, a famous park in Edinburgh.

Day 9, Stroll around Edinburgh

After a restful overnight stay in Edinburgh, enjoy breakfast at the hotel and prepare a water bottle for the journey on the 10th day. Today's itinerary includes visiting historic landmarks in Scotland, such as Calton Hill, the Scott Monument, Princess Street, Edinburgh University, and the Royal Palace. Make sure to engage with the history and beauty of these landmarks actively.

Day 10, A Glasgow Trip

You can travel from Edinburgh to Glasgow by train or bus, which takes around 50 minutes to an hour. You can opt for the morning train and leave your luggage at the hotel before continuing your journey. During your time in Glasgow, you can explore the Glasgow Botanics Garden, which boasts several glasshouses and is home to 9000 different plant species!

Day 11, Last Day in Glasgow
