There should be something for everyone to do, from swimming with manta rays to ascending active volcanoes. Indonesia is a great place for adventurers and backpackers because it is so inexpensive to travel around the country for a month.

Since you only have 4 weeks, it is recommended that you spend the first night of your trip in Jakarta, a metropolitan city that is both bustling and charming. To get used to the time zone and the local customs before moving to the next city.

Extra time in the capital city will allow you to see the Old Harbour at night and shop at the Kota Tua market. Check out Southeast Asia’s largest mosque, the Istiqlal Mosque, if you’re into religious landmarks.

Learn how to use the scooter before you rent it. Settle your baggage at your hotel and head to the Malioboro tourist district to pick up a scooter for the next day. A daily rate of no more than IDR 50,000 is reasonable.

You can rent a scooter in the city and ride it to the Bukit Rhema Gereja Ayam viewpoint, Parangtritis beach, and the nearby Prambanan temples, the largest Hindu temple in Southeast Asia. Revisit Malioboro street and dine at a recommended local eatery. We recommend chicken satay with sweet peanut sauce.

If you leave Surabaya early enough, you should make it to Cemoro Lawang in time to spend the day seeing the town and plotting out your route to the crater for the following morning. The inns where you stay should be able to arrange a tour to see the dawn. A trip to see the dawn will cost about $US400-$US500 (about $US400 and $US500, respectively).

If you go off the trail just a little, you should be able to find a secluded spot to view the sunrise over the crater. Nothing else compares to it. If you have booked a shared jeep to drive you to the crater for sunrise, you may expect to be picked up at your hotel at 3:30 in the morning.

You must take a ferry from Padang Bai Port to any of these islands. The boat schedule varies according to the weather, so consult your guesthouse beforehand.

The Gilis, small islands off Lombok, are great for relaxing on the beach, snorkeling with sea turtles, or strolling around the island. Exactly. Why remain on busy Bali beaches when you can find breathtaking, empty beaches elsewhere?

After a day at the beach, visit Mount Rinjani, Lombok’s most famous mountain. Mount Rinjani, 3,726 m above sea level, towers over the island. Hike, if you like it. It’s breathtaking up there. It’s a volcano inside a volcano.

The best method to trek Mount Rinjani is the 4-day, 3-night tour, which allows you to summit the volcano on the second day, then proceed to the lake, through the crater, and up to the ridge on the other side at a reasonable pace. Tours typically include the night before, so booking is unnecessary. Ensure you’re in decent shape before climbing Mount Rinjani, a volcano with sand-like slopes and uneven footing.

The voyage ends in Labuan Bajo, Flores, after passing through Komodo National Park. It will take four days and three nights to see the Komodo dragons on Komodo and Rinca islands, Padar island at daybreak, and Manta Point.

If you love to see the sunset or even sunrise, there are so many spots you can choose from on Rinca Island. Moreover, this island is quite hilly so you can get the best view of its peaks. You can also dive at the world’s best sites around Rinca Island, Komodo Island, and Padar Island.

Kelimutu, the tri-colored volcano lakes of East Flores, is the highlight. The same volcano produced blue, green, and black ones. Stay until sunrise to observe the lake’s vibrant colors. From Ende, take an early morning bus to Moni and arrange a sunrise trip with your hotel to Kelimutu. Rent a scooter, drive up the mountain at 4 AM, or hire a motorcycle taxi.

Finally, take a bus from Moni to Maumere, a seaside town with great beaches and scuba diving sites, before returning home. You’ll like Maumere’s tropical climate after Ruteng, Bajawa, and Moni’s mountain air. An excellent trip should end here. After a day on the beach, travel back to Bali.
