Starting from March 1st, 2022, Thailand's new Test & Go, which is part of the Thailand Pass system for travel has revamped and is now opening for new registrations! International travelers are now able to apply today to avoid having to take a PCR test or stay in a hotel on Day 5. Continue reading this for full details and requirements you need to know before planning a trip to Thailand.
Travelers who travel to Thailand by air, land, and sea will be able to register for the updated "Test & Go" program, which includes a lower minimum level of medical insurance and only “1 RT-PCR test” upon arrival. Beginning from March 7th, 2022, approved travelers who meet the new requirements will be eligible to enter Thailand. So, what rules have been changed to? The following points are the most important points of the most recent changes since then.
Note: International travelers who got their Test & Go Thailand Pass before March 1st and plan to visit Thailand after that date will be entitled to an exemption from the Day fifth accommodation and RT-PCR test. In other words, travelers do not need to stay in a SHA++ (SHA Extra Plus Certified) hotel or take a RT-PCR test on Day fifth. In addition, travelers will be able to file a refund request as well.
Step 1 – Travelers need to prepare the required documents as follows
Step 2 – Register for Thailand Pass
Step 3 – Get a COVID-19 RT-PCR test
Step 4 – Travel to Thailand
Step 5 – Underdo all requirements
All travelers who are fully vaccinated from all countries and territories are eligible to enter Thailand via Test & Go program. Note that, fully vaccinated in this case, only applicable for vaccines that registered by the Food and Drug Administration of Thailand or approved by the Ministry of Public Health or the WHO and received at least 14 days prior to departure.
There is no need for quarantine, however all travelers must take 1 COVID-19 RT-PCR test the day of arrival and wait one night at the hotel for the RT-PCR COVID-19 test result, or until a negative result is received. Any travelers who get a negative test result are eligible to go other parts in Thailand and must take a ATK self-test on day 5.
