The personalized service from the hotel staff is amazing. This in my view is the key selling point for this hotel. Great for quite getaways and private beach beach rendezvous. The only price is the road to the hotel which needs some renovation; once you get there you will forget about that though.

I am an American Ph.D. student in Ghana for six months to complete my field research. I booked The Beach House for my husband and I as he came to visit me from Washington, D.C. for two weeks for the Christmas Season. We had such a wonderful time at The Beach House. We stayed at The Beach House for six days. It is nestled right on the beach within a small fishing village called Ankwanda. If you like places that are unique, fun, relaxing and don't mind being off the beaten path then this place is for you. Steven, the manager and his staff are very attentive. My husband and I had a very personalized experience from beginning to end. We visited Cape Coast and Elmina Castles which are both within 25 minutes of The Beach House. We also went to Kakum National Park and did the Canopy Walk, so much fun! Steven even arranged a guided tour for us for the Elmina Fish market and we were able to go out on a boat and sail through the bay. The food cooked by Sammie at The Beach House was amazing!!! My husband and I loved the Tilapia and had it almost every night! I would highly recommend anyone to stay at The Beach House. Just keep in mind it is nice but very basic rooms with hot water, Wifi, and AC. You can walk right onto the beach and the views are beautiful!!! We definitely plan to stay here again when in Ghana and recommend to others as well.

I liked the Beach House so much, I extended my stay by two days! I swam in the warm waters of the Atlantic at the nice clean and safe beach immediately in front of the property, took a short drive to Elmina Castle, a bit longer drive to Cape Coast Castle, and a day trip to Kakum National Forest. Always returning to a nice clean bed in a clean comfortable air-conditioned room. The location is amazing. It's a slice of paradise and with the upgrades underway, I have no doubt the Beach House will be the go-to destination in the region in the years to come for folks that know. I just hope it doesn't get too busy, I want a room available whenever I return to Ghana.

It was nice small local resort at the end of a road in a fishing village not in Elmina. Once found in the local neighborhood it was a fine visit, had a nice deserted and clean beach providing a lovely morning walk. A few taxi drivers were very helpful in locating the Beach House. Staff was very helpful.

The hotel is no where near Elmina. It is further from Elmina so location should actually be updated on expedia. The person receiving us at the hotel was actually not there. Just don't waste your time booking this hotel

Unfriendly and unavailable staff, very difficult to find staff were never available it wasn't cheap compared to other hotels in the area and the room wasn't clean I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you have your own vehicle and you want to be very far away from everyone

This hotel is clean and friendly. The walls are thin and can hear almost everything. The biggest problem is that the staff checking us in was completely unaware of the hotels.com bookings and the number listed here is wrong. Check their website before booking. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you don't like Ghanaian food, there are few options within walking distance. Overall, it was a decent experience and a better option than staying in Cape Coast

Best value for money! Cosy and idyllic setting. Relaxed atmosphere. Staff was friendly and helpful and the food was excellent! Just make sure you let them know some time in advance (approx. 1 to 1,5 h) when and what you'd like to eat, as they prepare the dish exclusively for you. Prices are more than reasonable. Note that wifi is 6 $ per day and air conditioning 7 $ per day, if I remember correctly. I mention that because Expedia, on its website and in its confirmation email, says it's free. The pension's beach site is very clean and tourists' attractions such as Elmina and Cape Coast Castle, Monkey Forest and Kakum National Park are only a 30-to-90-minutes taxi drive away. My husband and I had a wonderful 2-nights stay at The Beach House and we would definitely come back!

Nice experience with a very friendly staff. Situated at 5 km from Elmina a great pick for those less keen on the Western oriented resorts. The room was clean and comfortable and the rooftop view is excellent, certainly to enjoy breakfast or dinner. Recommended!

We spent two nights at The Beach House. Overall it was a good experience. NOTE GOOGLE MAPS WILL TAKE YOU TO THE WRONG PLACEThe Ghanaian owner Stephen had a beach bonfire for guests on our first night which was a memorable start to our stay. We had the standard double rooms which are not particularly large but fine for us. Value for money is good, food provided tasty (but not quite as cheap as the accomodation), beach is close and clean. We walked to the larger resorts on the way to Elmina (20 minutes or so) and caught a taxi to Elmina from there which worked well. The local village is small so dont expect to walk to other restaurants or find nightlife there unless you are happy to do the 20 minute beach walk to the bigger resorts. The only problems we encountered were when booking. There was an issue with internet booking (so we booked and paid for a kingsize room which hotels.com said was confirmed, but when we arrived, we were told there was only a double room available and to my surprise the hotel refused to refund the difference in price for the smaller room arguing it was a risk I took by booking on the internet!!).

We had an excellent time during our stay! The hotel has great views of the beach from the terrace and provides a very calming environment. We were also able to enjoy attractions in the surrounding area easily due to transport arrange by the hotel at a very reasonable rate. In addition, the proprietor was attentive and made sure our every need was met.

Pleasantly surprised by my experience at the hotel. The room I stayed in was basic but clean and comfortable. It's right on one of the cleanest beaches in Ghana. The Staff were amazingly hospitable, going out of their way to make me welcome. Real value for money. I only stayed for one night but will return for longer when I am able to.

This hotel doesn't even have a sign up. I booked from the US, took 3 hours to find... no one knew about this place or where it was. We ended up not staying because it really doesn't exist as a hotel anymore. This was a terrible experience

When we arrived at the hotel three was a problem with our booking. They did not aspect us until the day aftner. As the hotel is placed near the beach, it is easy to take a walk along the beachside into town. But the hotel is placed to far and away from Elmina centre. which means that If you want to take a cap to the place they will charge you a huge amount of money just because you are a foreigner. That can be very annoying.
