The Richmond is not a 4 star property in the US or a European sense, meaning it does not have tastefully bland art on the walls or bath products with mystical Thai names. However, it is located across the street from Echmiadzin and within a few blocks of most other attractions. The property is scrupulously clean. You get complimentary toothbrush and razor in the room. The walk-in shower is spacious. The mattress is comfortable. The staff is super-friendly and they cook enough food for an army, so you’re in zero danger of starving if you order breakfast or dinner. It’s a solid hotel and who cares about the number of stars?

We stayed at the property in April 2025. It is located in the city center, and the staff was supportive. The parking area is conveniently located near the property. Area of Improvement: The toilet was not up to the mark and did not meet the standards expected from the star rating mentioned. Additionally, the room lacked basic facilities, such as a power outlet near each bed.

I chose this hotel because I didn't like the prices in downtown Yerevan hotels for the quality they offered - and I think I did right. Even though 19 km west of Yerevan, you get there in less than 45 minutes by a local minibus, which runs every few minutes. Plus you are very close to a beautiful and important monastery complex, the airport is less than 10 km away (actually as far away as downtown Yerevan is, but without the traffic). The hotel is clean, nice looking, rooms are spacious, everything was comfortable enough. The only thing I didn't like, but the hotel simply can't change it, is that it's close to a big boulevard crossing, and Armenian drivers seem to be quite noisy until very late at night - roaring engines, honking, powerful car audios... things like that. But I doubt Yerevan would give me more in that sense either.
