Azzurro Pod Hotel Darling Harbour

I liked it was close to where I was attending an event,liked the free dinner although quite spicy hot the night I had dinner so not sure if that’s usual or I just got unlucky as not a huge fan of spicy food,maybe when you register for dinner they could let you know what it is going to be ,dislikes that I didn’t get email directly from them it kept coming through Expedia which made check in a drawn out process and a hassle late at night and on top of that the bed allocated was being used when I arrived in my room although they sorted it pretty quickly,the old saying is you get what you pay for

Did the job, rooms are decent, cant complain

Extremely dirty, fridges are dirty, one stove and one microwave for the whole hostel, about 5 cups and 5 glasses, impossible to have a coffee or a drink during the meals. Not enough tolilets, no soap, showers are broken. 3 days in a row the dinner was the same schnitzel + rice, not expecting much for a cheap hotel with the dinner included (last only 1 hour, 6.30 to 7.45), but they can vary it a bit. Wi-Fi doesn't work well in the dining room. As there's no staff on site is imposible to get help when you needed. Beds are super uncomfortable.

I would come to stay again. The top beds were hardly climb up, noise and uncomfortable.

Felt good with my stay with that price. It include breakfast and dinner. But I ordered female only room, the lock not work well, although it need pin and in private area. But everyone can open it at night, I don't know whether they deliberate done it. But luckily nothing happened.

Best stay ever

Had an enjoyable stay and no issues to report. Would use again and recommend to anyone who doesn't mind shared accomodations.

Really annoyed that when something came up and i had to change my plans I wasnt able to get a refund or credit, even a week in advance. 👎

I would recommend this hostel for any travellers who were looking for a quiet place to stay or sleep for a night or two, it's not particularly social though if that's something that you are looking for, it was more social when it was female only. The pod bed design means that you can sleep really well, and you don't feel like there's 14 other people in your dorm. I wish they had a dairy free milk alternative like oat milk for breakfast as I am team lactose intolerant. The included breakfast is basic but pretty typical of Australian hostels, just tea, coffee, cereal and toast, but it does the job. I wonder why you can't use the microwave during breakfast though, my coffee got cold and I had to wait half an hour to reheat it. Lol. The fact that the rooms have an ensuite is really convenient, and the aircon works well to cool down the rooms. The only small issues I have with the property is that they don't seem to have enough pans, or fridges for people to store food that needs to be chilled, and the internet is not very reliable, I also wish they would put hooks on the bathroom doors so that there was somewhere to hang your towels. But all round good, clean place to stay, and pretty much all the staff are helpful. The check in process is a bit time consuming as the reception is off site, so probably wouldn't recommend if you are arriving in the middle of the night, but I would definitely stay here again. I think it's good value for Sydney CBD.

I absolutely love this place. I'm definitely coming back to stay here again next time. Next time I will ask for top POD though.
