Everything excellent as usual. Did order a rump steak one night that was chewy but it may have been me as hubby’s was fine. All staff very friendly and helpful. The best shower in the room!

We had a great time during out 3 night stay at The Esplanade, it is a beautiful building with lots of choice as far as spending time in the bars, restaurants or poolside. The room was stock standard, nothing over the top special, but the bed was very comfortable, it was very roomy. I liked the option to not have the room serviced in exchange for a credit on stay, what a great incentive and makes perfect sense. The bathroom shower floor looked like it needed a good scrub but other than that room was clean. I also liked the Chromecast option on the TV, this gave us the freedom to watch anything that we had access to on our phone, great idea. Location is brilliant and very close to everything.

The property is in need of some maintenance and repairs. The location is great facilities are good. Our room was comfortable but the bathroom ceiling was mouldy, carpet needed vacuuming cobwebs rust and lots of cracks outside on balconies and verandahs. Just needs some TLC Didn't receive anything much for being a vip hotel.

Nice location - close to lots of restaurants, bars and shops as well as the harbour. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Rooms are a bit tired - there was a used bandaid stuck to the bathroom floor from previous guest (was kinda camouflaged from the tiles) and there was no complementary water bottles in the room so we had to walk 10 mins to find a 7-11 to buy water.
Beds were comfortable and I liked the streaming function option on the tv.

The hotel was lovely but!!!,, on check out the bill for breakfast was not what we were expecting!
We were told the breakfast was $29 when checking in and again going in to breakfast, we stayed. For 5 days twice in 6 weeks , was told special guest rates, but on 2nd check out was then found out that it was per person making the breakfast $58 per day! Very sad , a rip off ! Yes it was a lovely breakfast but at that price it should be!

We have stayed at this hotel a few times but we’re not impressed this time the pool area has declined a lot and has no atmosphere this is the second time we have been here and the pool bar is closed. You can order on your phone but it’s very limited selection. Location is very good rooms were comfortable and clean. Main bar in the hotel closed at 10 pm on a Saturday night which we thought was early - overall had a nice stay but did not think it was worth the price.

The day we arrived, the hotel was hosting a big conference for the mining industry.
We dropped our bags in the room and headed out for dinner.
The first issue was the about of black mould in the bathroom but we had dinner plans so we dropped our bags and left.
When we returned around 10pm, the hotel was still very busy and noisy with the conference guests.
We went to bed and laid awake as the air con wasn’t working and the toilet was running all night. Overall, a very disappointing stay given the cost of the room. Only when we woke up we noticed urine stains on the bed too! Yuck!
When I went to reception to let them know, they offered a free bottle of water…
