Fabulous spot for a weekend

We booked a 1 bedroom double story apartment for 5 nights. The apartment was very good, with a full kitchen, and was part of a hotel/pub and was well located, close to the beachfront. The only issue we had was when it rained (very heavily) the floor to ceiling windows had not been sealed properly, so quite a bit of water entered the ground floor lounge area. Staff provided towels for us to put on the floor, but it is obviously an ongoing issue for them. Apart from that, we had a good stay, and the meals at the pub restaurants were very good. Location-wise there was a large cinema opposite the hotel, and plenty of varied dining options just around the corner.

This accommodation is reasonable in price, clean, friendly. I recommend it and will stay again.

My experience at The Waterloo Bay Hotel was overall okay. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a convenient location. The room was clean and functional, but it could use some updates to enhance comfort. While it met basic expectations, a few small improvements, such as a more comfortable bed, would elevate the experience. The on-site dining options were Ok, and the atmosphere was relaxed. It's a reasonable choice if you're looking for a straightforward and affordable stay.

Not allowing check-in an hour early wasn’t a big deal, but there’s only one bed prepared despite there being three people. To make matters worse, it rained last night, and I discovered my clothes were soaked. I double-checked the window and found it was closed properly, yet somehow the rain still got in!

The room and its location was very good. There were three problems. 1. Because of the way the power points were fixed to the wall, I couldn't plug in my CPAP machine. 2. I couldn't access the hotel wi fi. 3. There was no number provided for the duty manager.

The property is in poor condition. Wet carpet from leaking windows. Hole in wall in bathroom. Room was musty and damp. Gave two stars for cleanliness as bedding was clean.

Room was pleasant, with patio, but furnishings were showing signs of wear. The printed guest information kit was missing from the room and the internet connection did not work, possibly because the rooms are too far away from the modem, but the connection worked in other parts of the hotel, in the public areas. There was mould in the shower and the ventilator in the bathroom was very dirty. Check-in on the Saturday did not go smoothly because there were no staff at reception. They were hard to contact even on the phone because they were busy with bar, bottle shop and other hotel customers. Hotel accommodation guests did not seem to be a priority. However, at other times during my stay the staff were obliging. Location and public areas of the hotel were good. This would be a nice hotel to stay at again if there is improvement in the condition and cleanliness of the room and the overall attention to detail and service.

The check in process was disgusting.. nobody works on weekends.. went to the 24 hr check in around the back at around 2.15 and it told me my room wasn’t ready.. definitely will not be back.. and an absolute ripoff!!

Receptionist was amazing, helpful and down-to-earth. Casino area. Dining area. Open bar and eating area. Loved my room, clean and tidy. Everything I needed. Shopping areas galore and close by. Walking distance to everything. Walk to the beach.

A typical motel style accomodation attached to a suburban hotel. Self check in which could have been problematic if not for the assistance of a helpful office clerk. Clean. Hotel Beer Garden restaurant in the grounds offers good pub type meals. Recommended

I enjoyed my stay. The room was comfortable, the restaurant had great food and the staff were pleasant and helpful

No information on how to get your key to access the room as we were new to this hotel. Attempts to calls were unanswered but after 20 mins we got help from a lady on staff that actually wasn’t too sure herself but helped with gaining the Key via the screen pad on the door, which Wasn’t pointed out. Mould in the bathroom needs attention & the PowerPoint in the bathroom needs attention as both these are a health & safety ISSUES.

Nice accommodation at a good price with good amenities.

Extremely loud until about midnight. Not great when you have a flight at 6am!
