Martin's Château du Lac

Location and common dining areas were good.Giving it an Average rating - could have been excellent f the hallway carpets did not look dated. Further when booking a cab - we were given some pushy drivers trying to charge us the same price as big lux car and actually driving us in a small car. Had to speak to reception again to sort it out. some Food ran out at breakfast with no refill for 30 minutes had leave and had a lovely little hair in the scrambled eggs - we joked it was Vitamin H. Did not bother showing it to the staff - what would they do besides apologise.

Hotel was decent and clean. We used it as a stay over for a trip back to the UK.

Despite its 5-star rating, my recent stay at Hotel Martin Chatou left much to be desired, aligning more closely with what one might expect from a 3-star establishment. Service: The service at Hotel Martin Chatou unfortunately did not meet the high standards one would anticipate from a hotel of its purported caliber. Interactions often felt lackluster, lacking the attentiveness and detail-oriented approach synonymous with luxury accommodations. Breakfast: The breakfast offering was another area where the hotel did not live up to expectations. The variety and quality of food did not reflect the 5-star experience, with options feeling limited and somewhat uninspired. Room Quality: The room itself, while adequately furnished, fell short of the comfort and luxury one looks forward to in such a reputed hotel. The aesthetic and amenities provided did not match up to the usual 5-star room experience, with elements of wear and a need for refreshment apparent. Comfort and Cleanliness: On the front of comfort and cleanliness, there again was room for improvement. The overall cleanliness did not reach the meticulous standard expected, and the comfort level of the lodging experience was underwhelming. This detracted from the overall sense of luxury and relaxation that should define a stay at a hotel of this standing. In conclusion, while Hotel Martin Chatou boasts a 5-star rating, my experience suggests that the services, amenities, and overall guest experience align more to 3 star

The AC in the room did not work properly. The Internet Wi-Fi were intermittent and slow.

In my opinion this is not a true 5 star hotel., 4 star is more appropriate for it. The rooms are average, the breakfast is nice. There is a spa in the hotel, but it's not included and it's only an Extra. Description says free parking- they mean you should look for a parking near the hotel. The hotel has no designated parking. The shower in the tub is not holding itself in place, you have to hold it. Everyday had to go back to reception to get the key card coded again. Many small things are not working properly!!! This is why they don't deserve to be 5 star hotel.

A relaxing and pleasant stay at a well located hotel. A really big and modern hotel located in a a really quiet and peaceful lakeside setting.

Loved the spa treatment! Unfortunately, the mattress on our bed was like sleeping on the floor I still have not recovered from it

Breakfast is normally excellent but on Sunday choice was great but the hot food was only warm at 0845. No bar on Sunday evening. Constant hum with airco off. Fantastic decor, lovely staff and amazing lakeside location.

Great hotel, great staff and food. Amazing experience

Friday to Monday stay. Room very comfortable and exceptionally large. Lovely hotel and situ is 5*. I only have two issues, one being the hot breakfast ie bacon, sausages eggs etc were cold on each morning so on the third day chose another option which there is plenty. The other being waiting time to receive drinks when ordered. We waited nearly 15 minutes for 4 drinks and there was only one other customer! Other than that we found the hotel very pleasant and will definitely go back but please sort out the hot food.

They put us on the top floor at the very last room when the hotel was half empty and i was having an operation so it wasn’t the best but we still had a nice stay

Nice hotel in a nice location. I was expecting a place with a bit more character. The rooms are nice, clean, and spacious - but it all felt a bit modern and clinical like any modern hotel. The extended hotel facilities look nice, but I didn't get to use any of them - I arrived at 10.15pm and left at 8am the next morning - so the only "facilities" I used outside my bedroom was for breakfast. A breakfast that was pretty decent. Outlook from the front of the hotel over the lake is nice - but the view from my (not a lake view) room was very underwhelming by comparison.

The property is very nice and is in a very pretty location. I didn't like the 30(!) Euro resort fee just to use the gym. Also the breakfast only starts at 7, so you can't take advantage of it if you need to leave early.

Totally overrated place! Everything looks nice on the pictures, the reality looks more like a kind of Chinese kitch. The most frustrating thing for us that you pay a premium price for a so-called 5 stars hotel but to access the fitness, you need to pay 30 EUR extra... per person... Of course, as commented by the hotel manager, it is written in the booking conditions... My mistake, I haven't read the Arial font size 3 on the back of my screen. The rooms are large and confortable but the room door is as thin as a piece of paper... Really noisy and annoying because there always id... who are speaking loud in hotel corridors. For a business travel, I would not recommend the place either. There is not even one power plug available close to the table.... On the breakfast side, we had to queue more then 10 minutes to get in.... It was for sure a surprise to have so many guest 🤔 The quality of the breakfast food is closer to a 1 star motel...

The surrounding area is lovely as always, and the hotel is always nice and tidy. However they are really stripping down on small things to save money: no longer is water provided in the room, the bathroom amenities are not stocked up but rather the amenities boxes are empty in the bathroom for the look. And their room service is not 4 star, I would not even give it one star. Very poor quality of food and food choice. Shame
