The staff were fabulous! Helpful with anything you need.

Excellent hotel within walking distance of restaurants bars shops. The only thing I wasn't pleased with, was that the key ring had a little broomlike attachment that they required you to keep on the key. If you didn't want to carry it, you had to leave the key at the front desk.

The hotel is a small beautiful boutique hotel that is beautifully decorated with a great location overlooking the Itajuru canal. We were fortunate to get an upgrade to a lovely suite. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was nice and the restaurant food was amazing so we ate there all 3 days of our stay. There are many restaurants close by. The beach is about a 10 minute walk.

I loved the low key colonial vibe, just next to a quite part of the shore, close to small fishing boats. Amazing drinks, great pool and a very nice breakfast. Also loads of great restaurants and beaches close by. Would definitely recommend!

You simply cannot find a more attractive little boutique hotel (pousada) than Solar do Arco. Super stylish, quaint, Portuguese-inspired architecture. Wonderful staff, very good breakfast and parking just next door. Dining options abound. The room was well appointed and the A/C was quiet and appeared to be brand new. I'm going back!

We loved our stay at Hotel Solar do Arco and Cabo Frio as a wider area. We really enjoyed the facilities - lounging by the pool and reading in the main terrace was a particular highlight for me. We had a great breakfast each morning, and the staff were incredibly friendly and approachable. We would love to come back here again and would recommend the hotel to our friends!

We moved to Solar from one of the Recanto properties as Solar had availability so we can compare the two. The Premium Recanto had a great pool area and excellent breakfast. Solar breakfast was ok. Both hotels downstairs smelled very moldy and Solar seemed to make us feel bad. We moved to the 2nd floor at Solar the final night and that was better. I prefer the Recanto if there is availability. Solar is a beautiful hotel also.

We loved this hotel but what really made it special was the staff. They are very nice, attentive and competent. The quality of the drinks at the pool were fantastic. Best cuba libre I ever had.

Cabo Frio is challenged with good hotels, but this is the best of them all. Haven't found a better place, and happy to stay here again.

Very clean rooms, well decorated, and an oasis in the middle of Cabo Frio. Recommend for anyone wanted some great piece and quiet in Cabo Frio!

Beautiful beaches great people good food and very close to the beach...

Especially compared to other “hotels” in Brazil, this hotel is relatively pricey—but it is definitely worth the cost. I say hotel in quotes, because this place feels more like a mini resort than a hotel. The best aspect of this hotel is the staff. Incredibly attentive and polite. They anticipate needs surprisingly well. For example, it started to rain lightly one afternoon, and we returned to our room to find an umbrella hanging on the door. The hotel is within an attractive walled enclosure, which is welcome in Brazil. You feel safe, comfortable, and free to lounge around the pool relaxed and safe. The decor is bright, attractive, and tasteful. The rooms are quite small, which is the only reason I gave the room comfort a 4 instead of 5. That said, the rooms are quite clean, well appointed, and upscale, with very comfortable beds. The food choice for dinner and lunch is limited, but the quality was excellent—and I had the best Caipirinha of our entire trip (which included the Hilton on Copa)!
