Courtyard by Marriott Halifax Downtown

We have stayed here twice before and we very pleased but this time we were very disappointed.☹️ First I want to say that Bill the front desk staff was awesome! He was so understanding and kind! Unfortunately we can’t say the same for our room. There were not sink or tub plugs so unfortunately not able to have the bath I wanted after a cold chilly day and because no plug for the sink my husband’s razor blade went down it. Thank goodness it wasn’t expensive jewelry The fan in the bathroom also never worked. Overall the hotel is showing wear. Now some might say none of these are that big of a deal and I would probably agree if we weren’t paying $575.00 a night plus $25.00 a day for parking which Bill very kindly refunded.

Properly located for our functions in Halifax. Room was spacious and well appointed. Close to restaurants and convention centre.

The hotel was very nice. The location was perfect and the staff were all friendly and amazing. The one small thing I would say is that paying extra for a balcony and not having any furniture was a little disappointing. We were happy two chairs were brought up to the room when we called. We would stay here again and recommend it to others. Thank you.

Hotel in a great location but amenities are limited. Typically as a Bonvoy member there is usually water bottles on the room but did not see any perks of the membership. On site restaurant in a basic.

Very nice hotel, great location, close to everything waterfront.

I stayed with 2 kids and my husband for 3 days and we were all itchy when we woke up. Every morning we felt itchy. When we got home we found a couple of bed bugs in our luggage. The hotel is very expensive, it’s not worth to stay here. Don’t stay here!!

Rooms were a little warm and couldn't control the temperature

We enjoyed going out on the waterfront. And the restaurant was a driveway away. Very accessible and excellent food.

Paying extra for parking was ridiculous.

Terrible stay. Visitors should be told there is huge construction going on next door - don’t plan on sleeping past 7:00am. Construction will not be complete until 2027. After a full day of activities, returned at 5:00pm to a room that had not been cleaned. Continual line up of people at front desk complaining - from noise, room cleaning, room temperatures, etc. Staff were not helpful and all seemed to be working from a different hand book. Do not recommend !!!

I liked that the hotel was close to the waterfront. Staff was helpful. What I did not like was the overall interior look of the place, especially, considering the hefty price I paid to stay here for 3 nights. It was dull, very casual, and with no elegance at all.

Easy to get into my room from the roof

The room was fantastic however there was MAJOR construction happening. They are building a large high rise right across the street and the noise was EXTREMLY loud. Jack hammers and banging starting at 6:00AM everyday...including Saturday and Sunday.

Great location, clean friendly staff.

It was close to the boardwalk and lots of restaurants and shops. A quick walk to the ferry to go to Dartmouth. Staff were friendly and accomodating.

Our room 618, was newly renovated, very clean, spacious, well furnished and comfortable. A nice view of the harbour. We would rate it one of the best we've ever had. It has a fridge; a microwave would be a welcome addition. During our stay the room was very quiet. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast also very good. The hotel is in an excellent location with many restaurants and attractions within walking distance. We would definitely stay at this location again.
