Holiday Inn KUNMING CITY CENTRE by IHG, an IHG Hotel

Exceeded my expectation, 5 star service. Front desk manager Kitty Zhang and her team member Evelyn Wang made my stay perfect. the complimentary suite upgrade, the diverse breakfast, comfort swimming pool. everything is perfect and up to IGH's highest standard. I will definitely go back again.

Staff was friendly and helpful to foreign traveler. I paid for a premium room for a week but they upgraded me to a corner suite. Very nice with lots of upscale features.

The hotel was about a 15 minute walk from two different subway lines and the main shopping area of the city. Getting from the airport was simple with a subway line direct from the airport to the city center. The hotel was clean with an ample selection of foods at their breakfast buffet. They tried with service but if you don’t speak Chinese it’s hard.

Convenient with lots of eating places nearby and a shopping mall just within 10minutes walking. However, was quite disappointed that the room had a strong smoking odour left behind from previous customer, despite the no smoking signage placed inside the room. Breakfast is not included by default and is relatively expensive. However, staff was very friendly and helpful with our enquiries.

Services are great in this hotel but the hotel is kind of old so the bathroom smell is not good.

Checked in smoothly n the environment is good. Surrounded with good placing for food n scenario. People are friendly. Check-in staff is helpful n provided information when asked.

Location is good. Facility is a bit dated.

The central air con can not adjust, room temperature set at 27 degree which is unexpected high for Hong Kong people

The room was too warm. We tried to use the A/C to cool it down, only to find it did not work. When we asked the hotel to fix it, we were told it could not be fixed. They provided a loud portable fan for us to use. No offer to change rooms. Disappointing from such a large international hotel chain.

The desk staff were very helpful and were capable of communicating in limited English. The facilities are nice and clean. It is definitely a nice place to stay.

The location of the hotel is excellent due to its close vicinity to the bus stations, metro stations, a modern plaza, and board walk. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. They made extra effort to resolve the WiFi log-in problem I encountered with my iPad. And the room-keeping services were remarkable. The only areas for improvement, although none too serious, are: (1) the non-smoking room we reserved tends to reek of smoke from the vent in the bathroom (this problem could be mitigated by turning on the air-conditioning system); (2) the noise from the street traffic is audible even at the 16th floor although the level is tolerable.

Always stay here when in Kunming. Tge breakfast is outstanding!

The hotel is well located in the city center and 5 mins walk to the main sub-way hub. It's also very clean. However, I cannot believe that I've been told that the centralised AC system can only be turned on (cooling) after 5 or 6 pm. I cant even have some rest in the afternoon after my check-in because the room was warm and stuffy - 27 c degrees.

Service was just ok. However location is excellent. Right next to the mall I like "spring city mall"

Hotel service not up to mark also location not idea even though the Hotel is named as City Centre
