A welcome sight from the hotel room - overlooking the Tianjin Eye. The room was well kept and well position to see the Tianjin City.
However, the toilet bowl needs a few flushes.

We stayed two nights during the 2024 New Years
Arrived around noon and was checked in right away.
The price was reasonable for the holiday season.
Location is near the train station, the river and walking distance to attractions. Considering it is an older hotel it shows some wear but the price compensates for it.
Breakfast and Dinner Buffet was good and convenient.
We used the pool and almost had it to ourselves.It's plenty big to lap swim.
Plenty of free bottled water also they brought some fruit to the room with no charge.
We had a good veiw of the river and city from our room.
Only complaint was the room was a bit to warm, better than to cold.
Having visited China over the past ten years I have stayed in quite a few hotels and realize Chinese hotels are not the same as the ones in the US this one comes close to a western hotel.
Only disppointment was with Tianjin it self. It's more crowded, the population has increased by 3 million people since my first visit and seemed dirtier than I remember.
I would recommend a stay here, but some you can never please.

Design are dated and apparent in the carpet. They off the centralised aircon and only blowing warm air when it is 25degrees outside. Fan are limited and u have to live with it.

It is fine except the bathroom uses bathtub for shower purpose. It is quite dangerous to climb up and down the bathtub. This is not suitable for elderly.

This Holiday Inn was recommended to me by a business partner because of its convenient location for a meeting. It is an old and tired hotel covered in a thin layer of grime. The bathroom lighting is so dim I had difficulty shaving. I arrived on a late flight and there was basically nothing to eat by 11pm. The breakfast (which cost an extra $20) was not worth paying for. This hotel should be closed and either demolished or completely refitted. Next time I will stay somewhere less convenient.

Friendly, polite and helpful staff. Large and varied choice at buffet breakfast. Amazing views of the city at night with a must do walk down the side of the river. Bar in lobby with live entertainment
Negatives would be ….its a trek to the nearest metro station (a line is under construction). Our room was dirty, and VERY tired. Cigarette burns in furniture and carpets ( in a non smoking room)

The location couldnt be better. And room with the riverview can be highly recommended. But airconditioner was not working and it was too hot inside. Up to 30 roomtemperature affectef sleep. The Restaurant seafood buffet was not good. Food was cold and very limited variety. Fortunately there were plenty of options near by.

When booking our stay I was looking for a hotel that had a good reputation, hotel price was good and had free breakfast in the package. We found this at Holiday Inn Tianjin Riverside.
The room was large and very nice. We ate at Cafe Venice for supper the first night and liked the buffet. The breakfast buffet was good, too.
If you plan to walk and see the sights of the city there is a lot of walking. We did take the subway but there is no subway stop close to the hotel.
Overall a very good hotel! Thank you Holiday Inn!
