While I was initially a little disappointed by the small and old hotel lobby, I changed my mind once I checked into my room. The view from my room was phenomenal. The bed was very comfortable, with special buckwheat pillows, and I slept very well during my stay. The bathroom also had a useful smart toilet. These two things—along with the friendly and helpful hotel manager, Mr. Li— made my stay at this hotel worthwhile.

The glass door for the bathroom is super heavy. Is design fault. I hate automatic toilet. The reception is small. Feels the place is not a five star hotel. Overpriced

The Xiamen suite is spacious and has a direct view of Gulangyu. Location cannot be better! Huge deck (with a tub) where you can chill out. Mini bar is not stocked but you can order drinks via QR code and have your order delivered by a robot straight to your room! For such a nice suite the kitchen can be better equipped -- for example, there is nespresso machine but there is no capsules? No wine bottle openers or wine glasses either. The biggest problem is the bed -- it is sagging and badly needing to be replaced. But overall it is a very pleasant stay. Will be back.

Awesome location. Next to many walkable restaurants, bars, and sites. Staff is great, rooms are really nice with views of the sea and the island. Only downfall is their outside patio. Small and limited service. Breakfast buffet is the best I have ever been to and that is saying allot! Best omelet I have ever eaten.

Nice boutique hotel right in the center of town. Great views of the neighboring island. Rooms are quite large, clean and have great design aspects. Staff is friendly and accommodating, but level of English is not too high.

Beatiful and modern hotel. Our room was huge and came with a view of Gulangyu Island. Our room was so high tech, the curtains opened and closed automatically. The bathroom was big as well. Hotel staff was very helpful. They called us taxis and gave us a late checkout. The front desk staff spoke great English. The breakfast buffet had a variety of food and a gorgeous view of Gulangyu Island. I would highly recommend this hotel.

it's very clean and comfortable, but lack of bar/hooks in bath room for towels.
all is good except the overly priced bottle water - sold for 20 Chinese yuan in hotel room which is only 1 or 2 Yuan if you but it outside of hotel.
