I was in Shanghai for business and had a fantastic stay at the Irene Boutique Hotel. The rooms are clean and well kept, the beds are comfortable, the showers have good water pressure and the rooms are air conditioned. The hotel offers a tasty breakfast every morning and the front desk is able to accommodate foreign travelers. Excellent location near all types of shops, restaurants and the subway. I'll definitely be back my next trip.

The hotel is located within walking distance of a major subway station. But the neighborhood is a typical suburban area of China, a lot of constructions and a lot of people who moved from the rural to the urban. Subway line is right besides the hotel. So, it can be very noisy if your room is on the front side of the building. There are many small business and restaurants on another side of the building. So, it is convenient in day time but bad at night. The room is clean but very small. It can be a problem if bringing in a large luggage. The wall between rooms is very thin. I can clearly hear people next door talking and laughing which makes me hard to sleep. Staff members are friendly. Overall, it is good for the price and for a short stay. But I would not recommend for people who will stay more than 3 days.

Irene Boutique Hotel / Jinshu Hotel provides old fashioned warmth and modern convenience. The breakfast is great with daily congee, rice, pasta and egg dishes. The rooms are cozy and clean. The staff is friendly, welcoming and capable. The wifi in the rooms is good, with the expected fb restrictions in PRC. Even laundry service is available. I'll be back.
