For Jinan city, this is a very good hotel and convenient as it is very near to train station. Only thing is they will keep asking you to come down to TOP up the advance payment instead of accumulating to the bill for you to pay at the check out.

Excellent hotel, close to the train station. The rooms are beautiful, big, and very confortable. The hotel is in excellent conditions. My only recommendation will be to have staff that speaks better English.

I arrived late. Quick check-in. I was upgraded without asking. The room was pristine and beautiful. I was able to get a late in-room service with very decent food. Definitely a lot of efforts in details (different types of pillows, etc..)
Only downside: there is nothing around. So great if you are arriving/departing from Jinan west train station (rail service in China is top notch to go to Beijing or Shanghai -much faster than doing inland flights), but don't use the place as a base for tourism.

Business trip, meeting manufacturer. It was great experience overall. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The hotel was clean, beautiful, meticulous. Its a minute from the train station. 30 min from airport by taxi. First hotel the ac did not work, they were quick to try and fix it, eventually they asked to move me to another room. Great experience overall with them. I would stay again!!

Enjoyed my stay at Melia Jinan. Room was clean and comfortable. Service was good and they called to enquire if I was comfortable with the room or need anything. Location was quiet at night. The close proximity to the Jinan West train station was a plus.

This is a new hotel so still many teething problems and issues with fixtures and fittings which need to be addressed by the hotel staff.
The hotel is very far from Jinan so unless you need to be by the train station the location is not good.

The Melia in Jinan was an excellent hotel with very reasonable rates.
Great value for the price and an extensive breakfast buffet. I would recommend paying the room rate including the breakfast.
The hotel is within a couple minutes walking distance from the West Rail Station.

Relatively new hotel in a brand new development area (Jinan West), which is still being developed.
Great location if you are getting in/out via Jinan West railway station.
Only caveat is that there are no decent restaurants or eating places nearby currently.
Saving grace was that the hotel buffet was well priced and offered a great variety.
