We celebrated my 30th birthday here and absolutely loved it. Staff was friendly, lots of daily activities to do, the beach was gorgeous and they cleaned the washed up seaweed promptly. The restaurants were amazing, our favorites were Caicu and The Greek. Major complaints were the app functionality—it was hard to request services/make dinner reservations and the amount of times we were asked to book excursions or spa treatments became excessive. Be careful with the vendors on the beach as their excursions are severely falsely advertised/exaggerated and not safe.
This was our first time in Dominican and will definitely choose here over Mexico for our next all-inclusive trip.

The one thing i would change is the entertainment took over the white party and the guest did not do as much dancing. It was more about the entertainment and not the guest

A Genuine Experience, But Far from Luxury
We stayed for 5 nights and 6 days, and while the trip had its moments, it didn’t live up to the “5-star luxury” expectations. Upon arrival, we were picked up by friendly staff and driven to the main resort. However, the front desk, while polite, lacked the warm, welcoming vibe you typically get at high-end resorts. Usually, you’re greeted with a drink and some direction as soon as you step off the trolley or car—none of that happened here. It quickly became clear that this resort caters more to an older, retiree crowd than travelers looking for a premium experience.
The food was another disappointment. Restaurant service was below average, and if you’re hoping for a warm dining atmosphere with friendly service, you’ll be let down. One standout was a great waiter at the steakhouse, but even there, a woman offered us wine, and after we declined the upsell, she disappeared without bringing us any drinks—likely because there was no commission involved. Buffets were underwhelming, with limited variety and poor-quality fruits—even the mangos tasted old.
Overall, I left the trip feeling frustrated. This location doesn’t match the standard of other Bahia resorts, and I wouldn’t return.

Bahia luxury Ambar is nothing about luxury! Crowded beach and constant pursuit at 5 am to get lounge chairs! I bow to all the local people who work hard to make our stay pleasant but this resort lacks of organization! Sorry but luxury for me means relaxation, comfort and many other things which I didn’t find here! Also smoking everywhere thru the resort was very disturbing and disrespectful to other guests! This is not luxury resort maybe 4 stars!

Very nice resort. The grounds were lovely. However, I would not call this a 5 star resort. The food was average, not great. The beach and pool were really good. The hotel staff and entertainment crew were friendly and courteous. I expected higher quality, but overall I had a good time at the Bahia Principe Ambar. 8 out of 10 stars

I loved everything. The best is the sea. Wonderful. The options of food were really great. I ate well and drink well also. The service is amazing, all of the employees are friendly, kind and nice. Bahia Luxury Ambar in front of the beach is the best.

We had an amazing trip at Bahia Principe. We booked a deluxe swim up corner which I highly recommend. It’s bigger than the regular swim ups and our room was so spacious. We liked that we were in an adults only section but had access to most other areas. I was nervous to book at a mega-resort but the golf carts to take you around were plentiful and you usually didn’t have to wait long. We found the nightlife wasn’t incredibly exciting but we did like the silent disco. Food was decent. I found a few things at the buffet that I liked. I recommend Rodizio, Teppanyaki, and the steakhouse MEAT for a la carte dinners. They were great! My one wish is that you could use the swim up pool later than 9 PM. I understand not wanted to disturb the neighbors but considering music from the lobby was blasting until midnight some nights, I think a quiet swim in the pool would be OK
