Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada - All Inclusive

I stayed here about 10 years ago and it was one of the best places I ever stayed. I came back in hopes of my family having the same experience. Upon arrival I noticed some changes but stayed positive. I immediately requested an upgrade-I didn’t care if I had to pay more I wanted the best experience. The response was the upgrade would be pool view but nothing else (the room size would remain the same). I didn’t bother, we got to our room and it felt like a large walk in closet with bad lighting. Two full sized beds for 2 adults and 2 grown girls felt claustrophobic. We changed to go to the pool, forgot our glasses and the key card stopped working-we were locked out (this happened about 5x within the first 2 days). When we showered the water splashed out of the bathroom making the floor wet and slippery-I’m sure people fall all the time! None of the USB ports worked, half of the outlets worked, the fan squeaked like an horror movie and both the ac and fan stopped working the last night of our stay. We called the front desk and the said they would send someone but never did. The staff does their best to clean, smile, offer assistance, and entertain. The food is good, though one night we had a reservation at the Italian restaurant, waited 20 minutes just to get water after another 20 with no one taking our order we got up and went to the buffet. The beach is close but you constantly get guys trying to sell you their excursions. Over all we made the best of it…

The property was very lively and people were nice. However, they are a 'green' property and dont use water bottles or straws. Every time I asked for water, it was served on an open glass that didnt seem properly sanitized. I had to buy water bottles from the supermarket outside of the resort in order to feel safe. They also dont use straws because of their going green policy. Every time I asked for soda, they would have it served in a plastic glass. The food was okay, nothing special. The air conditioning didnt work. Our room was always warm despite having reported it several times . We slept in a warm room after a whole day at the beach and pool. Very uncomfortable. The room temperature was almost at 80 degrees. I dont even have it loke that in my own house, much less in a resort. There were dirty dishes and glasses left on the floor in the hallways.

Great experience! Not so happy with the great amount of Cigar smokers. I had to constantly move around to avoid the smoke.

I really like it everything was so clean the staff was friendly the pool didn’t have that many rules as other resorts and the beach was tight there and had great beach seats. They clean my room with all my stuff and didn’t take anything from my room I felt safe. Family friendly I loved it.

The rooms are very clean, properly well maintained. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Wide variety of food. Overall everything was excellent.

I absolutely love this hotel. We have been twice within a month already looking forward to trip #3. The staff is amazing , service is impeccable. The rooms are nice and spacious and clean, the beds are extremely comfortable. The food is amazing different theme everynight so much variety.

Nice quiet beach. Easy to find pool lounger. LOVE the many many peacocks roaming the property..

never have i ever been in a place where the staff made me feel like i was a king. love this place, visiting a location in a different country to then come back to them 100%

Property was very well maintained outdoor areas. Staff was friendly and very attentive. Lis in front desk made our stay unforgettable.

I have enjoyed in the past. The times I have stayed over all star in Dominican republic most of the staff very friendly and service oriented. I cannot say the same for all the staff at the front desk was quite disappointed when I had a couple of complains of things that need to be fixed in my room and our friends room and they were did not bother to do it it was done when we approached a security staff employee and after that escalated with the appropriate person in charge of doing that. Of escalation situations. So although my stay there in the past has been good this time it was semi-good noticing the area did need some improvements there was some mild deterioration and like I said a lot of the staff was excellent it was just a small group at the front desk reception area that were not that helpful. Which has seriously made me consider regarding going back there again

The service was excellent also the food and the staff Miguel y Lucy and everyone that you encountered was always with a smile and willing to help in any time

The property needs to be upgraded, the staff was great, food was good, my room had a leak from the upstairs tub,

The hotel was spotless and well-maintained, with a spacious pool and easy access to the beach—perfect for relaxing in the sun. The all-inclusive meals were tasty, with a great variety of food and drinks to enjoy. Staff were warm and welcoming, and check-in was a breeze. The nightly shows were lively and fun, and I especially loved how the music continued at the plaza afterward—it really brought everyone together. All in all, a beautiful resort experience, and I’d definitely stay again!

The variety food was terrible, always the same and poor offer.
