City Apartments Kings Cross

We have not enjoyed our stay, tv channels would not tune in. WiFi would not work. Only 3 lumpy pillows for 4 family members. Sofa bed so hard it was almost a possible to sleep on. Bugs found crawling around. Dirty stains on sofa bed. Apartment looks very tired. Marks stained table top. Dirty dusty iron. Holes in bathroom wall, filled with toilet paper. Stayed up trying to secure better accommodation. Found a travel lodge, booked it and vacated straight away. We informed the host and he hasn’t even bothered to reply!

Really nice place and location

The instructions to enter the property were clear and it was easy to "check in". The room itself was fine and fairly clean. Kitchen utensils needed a wash before being used. There was no advertised possibility to change linens or towels during the stay. The "kitchen" was generally too small to prepare anything except microwave meals, and not equipped for it. It was more a hotel room than a studio apartment really. Road outside was very noisy throughout the night.

Mainly I do not understand the picture used, definitely misleading. Please simply show that it is a small bedroom otherwise entering the room is really disappointing. Also the check-in instructions were not at all received, and fortunately my daughter had a local phone to reach the guy who had sent me one message on my international mobile but he never answered to my messages. We found out how to enter the building once in front of the wrong building! The address is wrongly written in your reservation page, please avoid this unnecessary hassle by writing "1 Swinton Street" instead of "2 Swinton Street" which is across the street, and neither has signs of City Apartments Kings so definitely good courtesy to write proper check-in instructions and address.

Need to improve cleaning conditions but the place was well located and close to St PANCRAS Station

Bathroom really small with very small sink. No hot water in sink and a bit unpredictable in the shower. One was a luke warm shower half way through! Water started hot but didn’t stay that way! About 10 min walk from King’s Cross. The person who checked in was friendly and helpful.

Really great hotel. The room was really a small apartment. Great for visiting London. Clean and thoughtfully arranged. I'll be recommending this place. Thank you!

Good value, clean and ok.

Close to transportation and food. Small space, thin walls and floor, and was not informed we would be in the basement.

This apartment was very nice for a quick stay. However the pictures lead you to believe it's closer to Kings Cross Station than it actually is. It's about a 10 minute walk from the station, which was unfortunate because we booked it so that our kids didn't have to walk very far. There was a lot of trash on the street and you could hear footsteps and talking above you. The food on the street was very limited, but there are lots of delivery options around. just not very convenient with children. The communication was great though! Joe was able to help us with the check in process and it was very smooth and easy. The property itself felt very clean and comfortable. lots of extra pillows and had all kitchen essentials.

Nice and clean apartment situated within easy walking distance from Kings Cross train station and near local amenities and pubs and takeaways.

My Clients had a terrible time at this property and they like to get a refund back after teh first night they had to moved out due to the terrible service and facilities. Please also refund the second part of the confirmation which I had cancelled yesterday. Here is their comments. Hi Kim, We are victims of a fraud. I hope you can get our money back. There is no Hotel Swinton. No sign. No front desk. The place is a VRBO or BRB. Hot water did not work in bathroom & kitchenette sinks. Before we got that figured out we couldn’t get water adjusted in shower. Either scalding or freezing. I called the number. The guy wanted to come over and show us how to tweak it. I was not up for tweaking. Also no wifi. We moved to Travelodge 50 yards away. Nice place. A sign, a front desk, wifi. Great neighborhood. Regards, Chuck

Good cosy and private apartment Turned around very quickly after booking

The apartment was clean with basic essentials tea/coffee available. Very small in comparison to the photos. We also booked 2 sofa bed settees but ended up with one. Did discuss this with agent on arrival and was asked to send photos of booking details which i did but never received a reply. The private bathroom is within the double bedroom so had to be careful not to wake others up when staying on bed settee. The sink is a hand wash sink and not really fit for having a wash/brushing teeth etc. It is a noisy area with lots of traffic. Clean and compact but would suit a couple or anyone staying for business purposes. We used it as a base so fortunately managed for the 3 nights we stayed.

Room lovely, very noisy road outside, traffic keeps you up all night

The images on the website are misleading in that it appears to be 2 separate rooms. In actual fact it is one room shot at different angles which made it somewhat awkward sleeping in the same room as my 16 year old son. We also ran out of water in the morning which made us miserable for the whole day. On a positive note, the room was clean and the gentleman who spoke to us was pleasant.

Was clean apartment, however very small, dark and dingey. Couldn’t sleep the whole weekend due to being able to hear noise from all other apartments from footsteps to doors opening and shutting all night long. Then there was a huge party that went on upstairs and after the manager of the building interfered threats where made to bomb the apartment so I felt very unsafe the rest of my stay. I’m not one to complain but after speaking with people we booked with no apologies were made which I felt was rude. I stay in apartments often and there are a lot better apartments in similar proximities with similar prices I would advise anyone to not book here and to shop about.
