DoubleTree by Hilton York

Great location, nice hotel. Breakfast was pretty good. Car parking was limited, only downside was the workman taking scaffold down by the window at 8am. Would have been nice to be warned that this was happening. Overall, nice hotel. Would use again.

Reception & restaurant was beautiful. Staff were lovely. Disappointed with the room, very small not the cleanest, not well maintained, broken shower screen which we reported straight away, no coffee /tea. Room was over £200. Just expected a little more for our money & room to be nicer for a Hilton, pictures deceiving. For this reason we wouldn’t stay again.

Great location and a good breakfast but we had a problem with the flush push button on the toilet which was reported but not repaired

The showers could use an upgrade. The location and the parking was convenient.

Staff were wonderful, facilities really nice. Shame to have such limited parking and for this to be an extra charge. Our lights were not working in the room.

Positive: Staff was nice and we were offered warm cookies upon arrival. Negative: Room was a little dated, bathroom door didn't lock and I'm pretty sure the air conditioning was broken, so they had 3 fans running in our room.

We were in a building across from the main building that was like an apartment. We were on the second floor. The room was well done with a newer remodel and the place was clean. The bathroom was enormous. It was a ton of room for our party of 4. The only thing was there was no air conditioning and it was very hot during our stay. The windows did open but was not enough cool air to help plus let in a ton of noise. I would have liked to been informed of this before booking. The location is excellent to enjoy the town and the rest of the accommodations were good. The no air conditioning was disappointing and not being told before was also disappointing.

Room was booked for my son and family. It was a lovely big room but had no fridge and was very hot due to lack of aircon. Cleanliness was good.

The staff and location were amazing. The AC unit in the room didn’t work, and trying to sleep during a heat wave was impossible. Fans were in the room for our use, but it barely helped. Not all the windows opened, so trying to get cool air in the room was challenging.

Didn't use any amenities so can't comment but the room was fine, the bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly and attentive. Only complaint..... Car parking charge of £25 was outrageous!

Hotel was in a excellent location and very clean with lovely rooms,Reception staff were lovely and very welcoming,helpful to,breakfast was only slight complaint,Not very warm but I personally like my food hot so may suit plenty people just my personal choice

Ideally located for access to city amenities within walking distance. However, on-site parking is extremely limited with even less recognisable parking that can be easily accessed. Alternative parking at MonkBar is a viable alternative and is a 5 minute walk away. Do check on the Council website for details on parking prices and which App to use as this information is out of date on both the hotel and Expedia information.

I had to cancel my room as it was in poor condition with stained / torn carpets and the bathroom was really substandard - I'd really expect better from the Hilton name. I had a book another room last minute after 9pm at the other Hilton down the road in York.

The location is excellent. The hotel is generally nice but if you look closely is a bit grubby in places -skirtings, behind the doors and daily room service. The shower was over a bath and it was very deep which made it difficult to get in and out. There was an aircon unit which was so noisy it couldn't be used. Breakfast was good and overall we had a good stay.
