Staff were friendly and attentive but the hotel looked and felt tired and I would describe it as old fashioned given that in some areas attempts had been made to modernise. Our room described as a superior room was ok, the bathroom had been modernised recently and very nice with Elemis cleansing products but the room was disappointing, light switches dating back to the 70’s, not enough sockets and the carpet was dirty. The door to the room again from the 70’s with the handle and locking system was hit and miss. Don’t get me wrong the room had modern TV and tea/coffee making facilities but the decor was out dated. I must mention the bed, both myself and the wife noticed we were itching quite a lot during the night waking up in the morning believing there were ‘bugs’ in the bed!! (We both had showers that morning!) Food in the restaurant was in my opinion expensive, the bar was what I would describe as rowdy (Sat night) so you couldn’t just relax with a drink in my opinion. Furniture in the bar, restaurant and reception was dated with the doors in and around these areas dated and probably dating back to when it was first built (1972) Breakfast was good, good choice and the service was excellent I have to say!! In summary I paid circa £175.00 for this stay (one night) and I feel robbed to be honest! Hotel Wroxham, you have a great opportunity to make this hotel great given there’s no comparisons in Wroxham!

We booked a standard room. On arrival we were asked if we wanted to pay extra for an upgrade. After looking at the standard room we were extremely disappointed that the view looked over the precinct which wasn’t in our opinion worth the money we paid. The upgraded room looked over the broads which was lovely. The room needed lighting over dressing table. Owner very strict on staff, any issues she had should have been discussed privately not in front of customers. All the staff were lovely, she’s lucky to have them. Food lovely and open fire too!!

The area around the hotel car park is a little scruffy but don't let it put you off. The welcome from Reception was warm and it was nice to be shown to my room. The room was well appointed but, once again, lacked attention to detail! One of the light bulbs over the mirror wasn't working and, initially, I couldn't get the tv to work. I then discovered that the aerial had been unplugged! The bed was one of the most comfortable I've experienced in a hotel and the bathroom, whilst small, was nicely appointed. The restaurant overlooks the moorings which was a pleasant view both for dinner and breakfast. The food was pleasant although quite expensive: the service was very good. Breakfast was a delight albeit a little slow. Would I stay again in the future: absolutely!
