The bed was a bit too soft, the toilet took several times before it flushed. And the swimming pool was cloudy because of bad pool management. Can I claim a partial refund please?

The hotel itself is a pretty cool old manor style hotel. The staff are very nice and friendly. The food is very expensive for what it is though, (we ate there a few times) so for example..... you pay £6 for about 5 very bland tasting chips! The spa next door is nice, but is not your typical spa per-say, as the pool is full of young kids and relaxing in the pool after a treatment is not an option you’ll have.

It was an unmitigated disaster to start with. Placed in a room above a wedding disco ; asked to change rooms ; receptionist lied and said no other rooms. Went online and found they had them. Arrogant tall gentleman continued to argue and said it was my fault for booking late. No apologies or anything Then after 30 minutes - left while he found duty manager who in the end did agree they had rooms and moved us to a nice room which was quiet. She said we would have to move back the next night which was rubbish and the saviour was AREEYA who the next morning immediately , politely and with a smile tap on the computer and said we could stay in our room. BOZENQ in the restaurant was another star making us feel special. One other negative was ; if you want milk which a sign says in the room 'call reception' - they want £8 tray charge !!!! Mega rip off ; we went and picked it up ourselves. So a mixed bag but at a higher end hotel - the reception experience was one of the worst in my 40 years of hotel visits ( roughly 1-2 per week for context !) Macdonald - must do better and reward your 2 exceptional staff

Little disappointed that a late checkout wasn’t available. Like that the room had air conditioning for a warm night. Pillows not very comfortable. Would like for hotels.com to include suite as an option for booking. Want to come back and book the top suite next time. Super deluxe was lovely, wouldn’t want to stay in the standard room as that looks just like a normal building. Swimming pool nice and large and appreciate the adult swim times.

The hotel staff, with the exception of the breakfast supervisor were completely disinterested. I contacted them several times on WhatsApp and they did not respond. The room was dingy, old and lacked basic comforts. The hotel is disappointing as it looks tired and lacks investment which is such a shame as it s a beautiful property. This is the second time we stayed when there was a wedding and it was complete chaos. Overall we were utterly disappointed. Only redeeming quality was the breakfast supervisor who was delightful.

It’s not a Spa hotel, at all. It’s an old fashioned 1990’s hotel with a pool which is more like the thing you’d expect in a leisure centre. The building is great but this desperately needs brought up to modern standards.

We stayed one night before travelling to LEGOLAND. The staff are all super friendly… dinnner was lovely. I had a massage which I don’t think was worth the money… I’ve had far better and for less money. The changing rooms in the spa were very busy, and dirty. The therapist who I had seemed very rushed and didn’t make me feel relaxed… a bit of relaxation music wouldn’t go a miss

This is not a 4* hotel on any level. Staff incompetence and slow to non-existent service made the stay very frustrating. Parking was difficult as spaces are far too narrow for modern cars. The only good thing about this hotel is their efficient air conditioning!

Hotel well situated hotel in pleasant grounds. Interior needs refurbishment but everything works. Staff were efficient and friendly. Restaurant staff were really helpful, attentive and went out of their way to help. Breakfast limited cold selection and reasonable warn choice that was of good quality. Food we had for evening meal was very good. The restaurant however needs refurbishment. We did not use the spa. We would stay again.
