Park Head Hotel

Just found the attitude lack lustre and not over welcoming.

Close to Kynren and Aukland Palace

The hotel was very easy to find and only a short distance from Bishop Auckland town centre, which we visited on the Saturday morning, using a local bus as the stop was just near the hotel. We were warmly greeted on arrival, which was our experience throughout our stay. Excellent staff, very helpful and polite. We stayed in a room just off from the the entrance near the court yard. The room was quite spacious with a very comfortable bed and excellent shower. We had dinner at the hotel on our first night and the food was well presented, hot and very tasty. A very comfortable restaurant and bar, though some separate seating in the bar area might not go amiss. Breakfasts were also excellent with good choices and well presented food. A very comfortable stay with friendly staff and a very good breakfast

Nice spacious room with everything you need and exceptionally clean. A very good price too. I just needed a one night stay while visiting my daughter so it was perfect

Stayed with 2 young children and the place was quiet and in a very convenient spot. The breakfast was good with a good continental selection and cereal for the kids, cooked options were great too. Will be staying again when we stay in the area!

Park Head was an unexpected delight. Rooms were well appointed, bright, modern with good quality bedding and comfortable mattresses. Attention to detail and cleanliness were high. Breakfast was well organised and service professional. Definitely recommend.

Slept well despite the mattress and pillows being very firm. Thought the full English breakfast was overpriced for what you got (1 sausage, 2 rashers of bacon, half a tomato, half a mushroom, 1 hash brown, 1 small slice of black pudding and 1 egg). Also the plates were cold.

Really clean and friendly staff, pleasant stay for 2 nights

Overall really happy with our experience staying here. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, the rooms were spacious and clean and the showers were nice. Dinner was delicious too. The only thing that was a let-down was the breakfast, which was disorganised and overpriced. The juices on offer were strangely tasteless, there weren't any pastries despite being advertised, and we were brought, more than once, a regular full English breakfast instead of the vegan version. This didn't outweigh the positives of the experience, but I would avoid the breakfast if I stayed again

Convenient accomodation for staying near Bishop Auckland

Lovely small hotel, very convenient for exploring the area and for going to Kynren.

My first visit to this hotel. Very impressed friendly staff and excellent facilities. Only minor issue, the windows only have blinds, these do not effectively block out the light so awake quite early. On the whole excellent.

I recently stayed overnight here with my sister . If only the hotel had responded to my emails instead of ignoring me ! The Saturday night was really good and we had a lovely meal served by a very nice young girl ! But on Sunday morning when we got up there was not a drop of water in our room ! We were told you’ll have to come over to main building for toilet ! So no toilet no shower no cup of tea etc . No point hanging around so came over for breakfast expecting to be served a freshly good breakfast with lots of choices - not so ! It was a chaos busy service not very well organised things kept running out and the only bread was white cheap bread ( which kept running out ! ) So not what we had paid for and not we were expecting ! Receptionist said they would be in touch with people ! Not a word ! I wrote an email which said they would respond within 48 hours ! Not a word so I wrote another one saying how disappointed I was and upset to be ignored and that after the third time of being asked I was going to post a review . All I heard was it is not our fault water went off and breakfast had to be changed because they were full ! Not good enough I’m afraid and not the way to run a business by ignoring issues .

I enjoyed my overnight stay at The Park Head Hotel. The room with ensuite i stayed in was immaculate & well presented also. This room had recently been refurbished as it was all new, the en suite was modern & finished to a very high standard. I slept well at The Park Head Hotel & i was able to relax. I would certainly recommend The Park Head Hotel to all & sundry afterall.
