Quy Mill Hotel & Spa

Room was very cold - as was the walk from reception to the room. Breakfast was a bit of a mess as we were unsure of what it entailed as the manager was taking a call abouincoming party

A very basic stay, everything looks beautiful on the outside, hotel staff very friendly, room nice size but not comfortable in terms of bed/pillows. Spa: steam room excellent, the sauna door doesn’t shut properly and also the rubber lining has fallen away therefore you lose a lot of heat, pool on the cool side and jacuzzi luke warm at best.

Good location, quite dated hotel and spa. The changing room is particularly in need of updating. Extremely poor sound insulation in the hotel.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were welcoming, helpful and attentive. Nice swimming pool.

Room was lovely and clean. Staff were friendly. Health and wellness facilities were really good. Onsite parking was convenient. Would happily stay again.

The room was lovely. The price of the breakfast was too much and the very late booking in time and early booking out meant there was limited time to use the spa, if you wanted a lay in and breakfast. So you make your choices.

The overall Hotel site is pretty impressive I liked the easy access reception/bar/restaurant and everything is well labelled. The rooms are spacious and well maintained the bathroom was spotless and a nice shower. The health club is a nice touch although could do with a bit of a spruce up but had everything we needed. The staff, brilliant! Especially the waitress who appeared to be on duty forever!!

Gym is good, slightly disappointed that the bar/restaurant didn’t do a salad after 5pm

The hotel and room were nice although there was mould on the tiles in the shower as well as the shower head itself which you don't expect from 3 star hotels so to see in 4 star was disappointing Although dinner and breakfast were nice somewhat let down with time of service which was mainly because of small amounts of staff on each service, I will say the staff were good though just stretched

Just a perfect place

This was by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed at not even sure where to begin. The room smell of mould filthy carpets, terrible stains, ripped wallpaper marks and holes in wall mould in bathroom chips and cracked cup milk that was off absolutely horrid

Lovely large room on the 4th floor of main building. However, no lift. We enjoyed our stay but the lighting in the bar and dining areas in the evening was too bright and harsh. No atmosphere whatsoever. Why not turn the lights down? Candles?

Nice easy check in, room clean and comfortable, although if you have mobility issues ensure you check which room you are allocated as we had to go up to the top floor, about 3/4 staircases, quite a few steps with our luggage but wasn't a problem for us. Had dinner, which was nice, the young man who took out order was extremely polite. We went over to the spa in the evening and stayed only 5 minutes in the jacuzzi as the water was only warm and the smell was awful, like a musty damp aroma, not a fresh chlorine, clean smell that a spa should have. The area behind the jacuzzi looked grimy round the edges too. The actual swimming pool was too cold for me so didn't stay. Breakfast was nice and I feel we were well catered for. I would say though that a few friendly smiles from the breakfast staff would have been nice, they did not look happy in their roles. If you want a hotel with a Spa, like we did, then I would not recommend booking here because of the spa, however if you want just a hotel then I would recommend it.

Good service, food and facilities.

Pros: Claire, on reception, was outstanding and I really hope this hotel recognises what an asset to the business she is. She made our stay welcoming, comfortable and addressed all concerns. Her mannerisms were calm and helpful. Joel was a great mixologist, and very informative on the cocktails! Great breakfast. Lovely rooms with beautiful grounds. Cons: For a private business, this hotel should really take cash for payments. Thr card only option is limiting and too controlling. If I ask for a small change to my breakfast order it should just be carried out, and the guest not told "I'm not sure this is possible as were very busy". If you cannot cope with the breakfast rush, hire more staff or reduce your guest capacity. The change request was honoured but it almost made us book into another hotel for the second night.
