The Angel Hotel

Room very dark even with all the lights on. Bathroom really bright with a fantastic shower.

Nice pub but closed at 8:00 on the Sunday and didn’t do food in the evening.

Hotel was good for a night. Comfortable bed, super huge towels. Bathroom a bit tired. We didn’t eat here so can’t comment on that. Check on was friendly and helpful.

Stayed before . Got told on check-in that, due to a function in the courtyard, there would be no dinner available , nor breakfast the next day. Plus the 'function' meaning live band right outside every room door. Fortunately, it was a 70th birthday party , so the music was good and finished at a reasonable time. However, any customer should have been told about all of these matters, but who cares? No one takes responsibility any more

When we arrived there was a private function on which meant that there was no evening meals available. The function had taken over the whole hotel which meant that we couldn't access our garden room easily with out having to negotiate the guest of the function to allow us to get to the door to the room. Also due to the function there was a feeling of lack of privacy, plus the noise level was excessive directly outside of the room. The hotel does not do breakfast, which was disappointing.. Parking was either on street which, was limited to 2 hours with no return until the end of the day, or a pay and display at the rear that was shared with the local supermarket so was quite busy. Not the best place we have stayed in and in all honesty we will not be returning to The Angel.

Shame the hotel didn’t offer breakfast as an option otherwise a nice stay

Hotel is fine, they advertise free parking, this isn't true, there is no parking unless you're lucky to get a spot at the front, large Supermarket car park at the rear which is easier. The rooms need modernising, felt like I was on a slope all the time, prepared a brew and the cup slipped off the one table provided.

Excellent location will definitely stay again

Nice simple room, a little bit dated but clean. Very comfy bed.

We were on ground floor by courtyard when we got there thought it would be a noise problem as people drinking out there in sunny weather. However on both nights all gone by 10. Staff very helpful, food good, would use again. food good would use again

Beds were awful, small and springy, no hot water in shower only on sink, check in was weird just gave my name and got key, didn’t show ID or CC. Food was good but took long time to get. Parking was rough to find.

Attending a wedding so convenient for stay , parking limited ,room clean well equipped , but service slow as only two staff on even with a wedding reception on ,

We attended a wedding last week, the food was lovely, but just not enough of it for what our friends paid.

Bang in the middle of town and pleasant. Cosy pub and clean modern rooms.

Considering the chain is owned by a brewery I was disappointed to find only one real ale available and to be very honest it wasn’t a type of beer I would have chosen.

Room was nice clean & tidy good value for money ❤️

Well positioned & close to work& have used the Angel several times before & will again in the future
