The Earl of Doncaster Hotel

From check in to check ouy everything was fantastic we had a deluxe room it was amazing.. the whole hotel is amazing well worth a vist

Lovely art deco interior and very helpful staff Got busy with a wedding on the Saturdaywhen it would have been helpful to have a room further away from the reception and we couldn’t get served in the dining room.

Very supriced lovely hotel rooms large staff friendly 15 minutes to town walking in a straight line will go back as we stayed 1 night would like to stay longer

Retro hotel, nice enough but won't be to everyone's tase.

Hotel was nice got upgraded due to our original room been over ball room and noise. Room big spaces thr room was warm and couldn't open window or door due to safety. Very art deco

Been a number of years since I last stayed at the Earl, but will be my go to when in the area for sure. Rooms were comfortable, well equipped and in immaculate condition. Staff were super friendly and helpful throughout my stay, and breakfast was incredible. Special shout out to the eggs royale, lovely to have some healthy breakfast choices along with the usual full English - which looked equally good! Many thanks to all!

On arrival the outside seating area looked ready for a refresh and then the reception seemed disinterested in our arrival so not a good start. When I asked the receptionist if I should pay now she said now or later it's up to you so I paid then. She informed me that there were two lifts and we could use either so I asked which was the closest to our room as my sister has mobility issues, she said there was the same distance between so it didn't matter which we used, but later on we discovered that the second one, the one we didn't use, was literally a dozen steps from the room whereas the one we used entailed much more walking than that, the receptionist should have told us that. However, she did offer to get us a taxi and gave us some information about where we were going. After that we found the bar staff very good indeed, the cleaners pleasant and helpful. We also loved the full on art deco design! Our twin room was spacious with a good walk in shower and a roomy bathroom. Plenty of clothes storage, good towels and toiletries and comfy beds. The cleanliness was excellent throughout. Therefore we would return but do think one receptionist could do with a little more training. The other two I came across were professional, friendly and helpful.

Once you get past the glitz of the reception this is a great hotel. Worth spending a little extra to get a bigger room with a better view. Staff were lovely. Food was awful!!

An old fashioned hotel in the best possible sense - all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was excellent and very good value.

Promised car parking within the hotel was not available. Had to park on the street outside. Not what I expected!

Brilliant Hotel and Staff

Always a great stay at the earl

Paid for an executive room but I am afraid it was not acceptable. The hotel has sealed the windows in the room and the only ventilation is from the a/c. Upon entering the room we were overwhelmed with the intense heat that has built up. We switched on the air con and set it to the fast speed and coldest temp. 2 hrs later and the room was still very hot. We tried another room and it was the same situation. Even worse in fact because the 2 hrs we spent in the first room was watered. We had to start over again. I had to ask reception for a fan and they did give us a fan that helped.
