The Horse & Farrier Inn and The Salutation Inn

Nice room with good view of the surrounding hills. Very peaceful stay. Food and service were excellent.

Lovely inn dating back to 1688. Food was delicious and the rooms were cosy. For those who are on the taller side, it's worth noting that as part of the charm of a building built in the 1600's, you will find yourself having to duck underneath the doorframes!

Friendly and hard working staff, lovely, clean room with fan available. Shower was great! Hot chocolate was a nice addition as well as the usual tea and coffee. Vegetarian breakfast was very nice.

Fantastic cottage, just 5 miles from Keswick. Small and quaint, everything you need for a week away. Kitchen well stocked, private outside area to sit and chill of an evening. To big bedrooms, one with an ensuite plus a main bathroom. Real value for money!! I would strongly recommend and stay!

Very pleasant, lovely clean room, lovely decor. Beautiful food, just pleasant all round.

Great staff and food

Sadly they are still to refurbish some of the bedrooms, the room I had had damp everywhere, patches of plaster off the wall. Had I know I would not have booked that place, when i complained they apologised but that was it, marred my stay with them definately.

We had an amazing time. The food amazing in a gorgeous pub. The atmosphere and hospitality was fantastic everyone made us feel welcome very friendly especially the lovely Keith, what a legend! Loved listening to the stories & the history of the building he was brilliant! We paid £132 a night (Tuesday( for our room, there was a few minor problems, especially the volume of the music that we could hear while in our room played in the bar & we did also wonder if it was actually a Superior room, (room 5). We would definitely stay again but request a different room.

Had such a lovely stay in The Horse & Farrier Inn. Rooms were small but clean and had all the facilites needed. Food at both dinner and breakfast was delicious. Location is great, only a short drive into Keswick, with beautiful views of the mountains. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.

Disappointed with breakfast especially for my partner who is coeliac and has to have gluten free food. Room was comfortable and nicely decorated but little things like a very rusty bin in the bathroom spoil the effect.

Cosy pub/ restaurant/ hotel in a stunning Lake District spot. Sunday lunch was extremely tasty, served by very attentive staff. Our room, the Blencathra suite, was a perfect fit for our family. Spotlessly clean, super comfortable bed, which made for great nights sleep.

Very pleasant stay rooms were very comfortable good size had everything you would need ! Food good and tasty, ( large portions ) pleasant staff . We had a lovely break away with friends .
