This is a family chateaux with walled in parking out front, now operating as a boutique Hotel. The owner still lives on site, and the rooms are generously large and very quiet at night. The parking was easy, and secured with a locked gate at night. Breakfast was a basic contental, more than sufficient for us. No fancy coffees though. We initially had difficultly finding the entrance, as Expedia says #2 when the gate is actually 180-degrees around the block at #1. But in retrospect, it should be very easy to find, with the gate facing the huge church (currently undergoing restoration). One downside: excellent hosts, very accommodating, but they smoke (mainly outside). So our room reeked of cigarettes. All else was wonderful, with good internet, strong shower, good heat pump, etc.

A 200 year old Chateau in the center of the charming village of Agen. Talk about character! Host couldn't have been nicer. Spotless. Wonderful continental breakfast with fresh pastries cheese and the local specialty prunes. Reasonably priced. Wish we could have stayed longer! Bravo!

The building has loads of character both on the outside and inside with all the furniture. The staff were always available and the breakfasts were very filling. Two issues only, firstly the room had only a large armoire for storage so no drawers or shelves for items not on hangers. Secondly after many attempts I failed to ever access the wifi in the room or downstairs. There is a warning in the literature that the wifi was not good later in the day but in my case it was never there.

This hotel is lovely, my room was very nice. However, the bed was not at all comfortable and after my one night stay I have suffered terrible lower back pain. I also want to warn people about the mini bar. I took 2 small plastic bottles of water from the room refrigerator....a no name brand regular drinking water. Not Perrier, or Evian....just a cheap bottled drinking water. I was shocked to see that I was charged 6 euro each for those two small bottles of water...12 euros for two!!! I doubt that the Ritz Carlton, the Mandarin, or the Four Seasons would charge this for an ordinary small bottle of drinking water. And in fact I have stayed in hotels that offer 1 bottle of complimentary water.....just regular hotels, not high end hotels. This hotel is by no means high end. It is simply pretty in its decor.
