Excellent location, William gave me some great tips on where to go nearby. Hotel is opposite the Opera House (or something like that) and the pedestrian shopping area. Rooms are small and warm but great value for a cheeky weekend or overnight, easy access to airport tram. Will return.

Good location and value for money! Clean but dated decor

Unfortunately there was mold all over the carpet. There was also water leaking from the floor. The smell in the room was unbearable. We complained about the state of the room and the staff reacted as if they didn’t know about this problem. I later discovered that there were already several complaints about mold and a very dirty overall state of the hotel on the internet. To knowingly sell rooms in this kind of state is a total embarrassment. Definitely avoid this hotel and the neighboring hotel d’opera which apparently is of the same owner and seems to have similar issues

Hotel is a bit run down but very convenient, staff is friendly, breakfast at adjacent cafe was typical bread/croissant/ coffee

The check-in staff were polite & friendly, the location was great. The hotel is in need of an update. Room had leaky rust water marks on the door, smell in bathroom, stained very old carpet. The bed was just a double & very hard.

Great location, reasonable rates, almost 2 hundred years old but still very functional. Walk to everything from here.

Disappointed with the hotel Overall. The reception area was dirty, in poor condition and cluttered. Our room was on the third floor which was accessed by a small service lift. The room was ok, basic but had a nice good onto the street below. The landing corridors looked tired and cluttered with laundry. The hotel was overall poorly decorated and presented. Thankfully we only had a one night stay in this location, we would not stay here again as it is does not represent good value for money, although the location was good.

Budget hotel in great location, ideal for short stay

The hotel has the best location for anyone that wants to be able to walk in downtown Bordeaux. The exterior is lovely; typical Bordeaux charm. The entrance where the concierge desk is located is cramped, but honestly, these old buildings were never meant to deal with large crowds. Our room was fine. Nothing to write home about, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Their breakfast was underwhelming and the set up was awkward. Breakfast foods were set up on a small counter, in a space between two dining areas. The choices were limited but the foods were okay. We didn't starve. My main complaint is that overall, the hotel just had a rundown appearance and feeling.. I am not talking about old world charm. I am talking about stained and buckled carpets and worn out areas of paint. The awkward setup of the breakfast area made it feel worse. But....location location location. The rates are comparable to other hotels in the area. The room was comfortable and clean.

Very convenient budget stay - really well located to the team and walkable to all desirable food and shopping neighborhoods. The carpeting and bathroom fixtures are in severe need of renovation, lending to a very downtrodden experience - however the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning strong. Fine for a stay for good rest when you are otherwise out enjoying all Bordeaux has to offer.

Only thing good about this hotel is definitely location. Excellent location

It’s an older hotel but for the price, location, and customer service, it was definitely worth it. Other reviews mention old carpets and it needing renovations, sure, but when in Bordeaux, you’re probably spending your days walking around the beautiful town. We had a room facing the town square, if you will, it had doubled windows so noise wasn’t an issue and it’s a hotel dating back ton1800’s. Super close to trams especially if coming from the airport.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is an older hotel with a few oddities. The cafe is substandard, although the beer is cold.

Un très bon service à la réception, plus particulièrement de la part de Louis-Marie qui a été très gentil et m’a toujours accueilli avec le sourire et répondu à mes demandes d’info. J’ai trouvé l’hôtel très bien situé à proximité du tram, des sites touristiques et restos, entre autres.

L’hôtel a un cachet particulier et c’est ce que je recherche. Très bon service à la réception. Ils sont très gentils.

Old world hotel with lots of character. All the personal are very welcoming. Great place to stay!

Nice hotel in an historic building. Large room and centrally located right next to opera house. It does have an elevator. The only thing I would comment on was the condition of the carpet on the second floor made it difficult to roll our suitcases. Nice cafe downstairs. Front desk was always helpful.

The place is in a perfect location, very clean, great staff. Would definitely stay there again the next time I’m in Bordeaux.
