Hotel Diplomat

Hotel is not where Expedia’s maps place it, it is about 1 km away, not close to the bus stop or any of the restaurants/bars. Would give zero stars if possible, the management didn’t care that they had placed the hotel in a much better location than it actually is on the booking site.

Nice hotel near old Tbilisi.

Simple and clean hotel just off the busiest part of old-town Tbilisi with super kind and helpful hosts. The perfect location if you want something quiet, but close to everything in Sololaki, Mtatsminda and Vera, which was all reachable by foot or short taxi ride.

The staff are really good the area isn’t the best If you want a low budget place it is a good place to stay

It was okay for a very last minute booking. Staff was not friendly and I was with a friend and we both had very early flights. I left before, and a staff member instead of asking me when leaving, went to the room and opened while my friend was still asleep and almost had an heart attack! How irresponsible!

The Hotel Diplomat was what I needed: an inexpensive hotel for a week in a quiet area. The staff was very helpful. Please note that the hotel is on the top of a hill. Mini-buses run regularly to the hotel, but be sure to figure out the number of the buses and where they stop, as walking up the hill is difficult.

Its a small hotel. I frequent it when in Tbilisi for work or receiving guests. Its close to liberty square and old town, very walkable. The breakfast offers home made local dishes and the staff great me by name. I am an extensive traveler. The staff attends to my needs, suggests restaurants, the mini fridge is full and brings a tea kettle or toothpaste if i need. I do wish there was an elevator. But they carry my bags. The price is really fair if your an american and want front desk services 24 by 7. Love it.

The service staff is very accondatung especially for those travelers on business. I am a returning visitor because of great little things the friendly staff do for me . For instance they are English fluebt and help with Tranlaltion and handlung of cabs.also bag handling. They are fkexible on early check i and consider my room preferences. They suggest the best local cafes and restaurants. They welcome me by name. There is a mini bar in the room and theurooms are nicely sized all have AC, bedding is well above average and comfortable.And good WiFi.

No morning call was delivered even it promised before. Further more expected taxi was not arranged for airport and there's no one at the front desk when I need to check out and to call a taxi. It was terrible experience that ever happened

A nice clean hotel. I arrived in the early hours of the morning and the reception desk was open and willing to help. They arranged a tour for me the following day. A nice helpful hotel with an adequate breakfast.

The staff at the diplomat is amazing. Not only did they give me wonderful recommendations, they also arranged for transport to and from touristic sights laying far outside of the city. The room was clean, with a comfortable bed, air conditioning, and full mini bar at an extremely reasonable price. On top of this the breakfast was full of local varieties and out of this world! Only a 15 minute walk from the old heart of the city.

This is a very nice modest hotel. The staff is exceptionally considerate, arranging any missing items need for for room service, bag handling, cab to the airport or bus station. I felt secure and cared for. My room was upgraded on arrival for returning and everyone remembered my name. Your not far from Liberty Square Metro, but it is a 15 minute walk or a small cab fare that can be arranged. Your close to the Funicular and Old Town. My room had a mini fridge that was stock and the bathroom is modern, just the carpet is dated and no elevator which is coming soon. I love the morning full breakfast. I frequent Tbilisi and plan to return. The price is a bargain if you travel at this level in the US at all.

I was greeted and checked in promptky. The staff is warm and friendly. The morning breakfast is a full fair, the kitchen will make your eggs and they are western foods in addition to Georgian. My room was small my adequate for a single travelor. The bathroom minimum soaps, but hairdryer. LIberty square and old city. us,walkable downhill about 15 mins, and its a nice walk in the am lots of old architecure, small.shops. but taxi back.

Very nice hotel with great service, perfect breakfast and caring staff.

We had a fantastic stay at the Hotel Diplomat. We are a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids 8 & 4) and we can't fault the hotel. We were in room 37; it was spacious and spotlessly clean. The housekeeping staff were excellent and always waited the extra time for us to depart. The room had all we needed and also a small balcony. 2 very small things that did not impede our stay: the plug for the bath was missing (but we.managed and also took showers) and only Georgian and Russian channels on TV (not important for us). The hotel was very clean and staff were always available to help. The breakfast was good with a delicious and sufficient variety of foods. We were there for New Years so there was even champagne and traditional Georgian sweets. Best of all about this hotel was the outstanding hospitality and support of the staff, most notably Merab, who helped us with everything- transfers, advice, going over and above to help me when I had a cold bringing me a traditional Georgian cold cure. he was kind, professional and courteous at all times and so delightful with our children. Big shout out also to George who was equally kind and just wonderful with our children always playing with them and looking after them. The location of the hotel was fine, approx 20 mins to Freedom Sq walking with the kids. It's calm and peaceful. We arrived to Tbilisi by train and got to the hotel at 8.30am and as our room was free they checked us in straight away with no extra charge amazing thanks.
