Great location and walking distance to many attractions! The room was clean and we had a lovely balcony and view of the national garden! The staff were extremely helpful with our request for transport! Full breakfast buffet was a bonus start for the day and the great rooftop restaurant made the sunset dinner memorable!! Highly recommend!!!!

The Amalia is in the PERFECT location in central Athens. We ditched the idea of booking expensive, time-controlled guided tours through the cruise line or other agencies and literally walked everywhere, including to the Acropolis Museum and up to the Parthenon. All the sites we were interested in seeing are, in fact, walkable from this location. It is literally right across the street from the main entrance to the National Garden, which is gorgeous and worth an hour long stroll to see the turtle pond, statuary, hidden nuggets of beauty and quaint cafe tucked away in the back. It is literally a 5 minute walk to Constitution Square and the Parliament Building, where the solemn, hourly 'changing of the guard' is conducted with reverence and dignity and -- during the day -- draws huge crowds. If you stay here, you can get an almost private viewing with the same ceremonial weight and no crowds. The hotel itself features a rooftop restaurant and bar with a spectacular view of the Parthenon as well as a ground floor lounge with it's own bar. A lovely breakfast with lots of options is included and the staff goes out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. We like ice in most of our cold drinks, and they cheerfully kept us stocked. When we set out on our own adventures in exploring Athens, they drew directional lines on a printed map because "sometimes Google Maps doesn't know all the little streets." So true!

Great place to stay in Athens. The hotel was very clean (the carpets could stand a refresh but weren’t too bad). The staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful. We loved that breakfast was included and we didn’t have to go out to find a place to eat.

Good location. Helpful reception staff. Decent range of food for breakfast. BUT the room I stayed in (109) is very dated and in need of modernisation. I wouldn’t call the room a 4 star quality room.

Rooms are tiny. Shower faucet is facing the wrong way making it hard and dangerous to use. The property is old. Not worth the cost, although the location is convenient and close to most of the sites.

Great stay at the Amalia. Hotel is about 35 minutes from airport depending on traffic. Many restaurants and shops in the area. You can take the metro from the airport as there's metro stop within walking distance from hotel. The rooftop bar has wonderful food and views of the city and the Acropolis. The staff was great they arranged transportation to the port for our cruise.
