The Residence - Christokopidou Hotel & SPA

Lovely couple of nights in Athens - perfect location from r exploring the area

Just want to preface that the service provided by the staff was excellent. However, we had multiple AC issues, a room at the front door (which was not made obvious when making the reservation), this contributed to a lot of noise throughout the day, and the night. All else great.

Our room (room 04) was located right next to the reception and main entrance (literally 3 feet from the door) so you could hear everyone coming and going and every conversation in the reception, including the staff from the spa who would sit on a sofa a few feet away from our room door and chat; so not great in that respect. Next, the AC is controlled remotely by management. This is not explained but rather when you arrive the room is hot inside and the control panel for the AC displays the message "HL" which after googling means hardware lock. Upon asking the reception, they explained they would "come and take a look". Next, it is miraculously working but went off again less than an hour later so we had to ask again. From reading other reviews, this seems to be a tactic they use to save electricity. Not great. Our last negative was that the fridge light started flicking during the first night, lighting up the room like a strobe light. From reading other reviews this isn't the first time this has happened. The receptionist said that she would get a technician to look at it but ultimately it was not fixed throughout the remaining two days of our stay. Positives: the hotel is ideally located. Close to the city center and surprisingly not too noisy despite being near to several loud restaurants. The hotel staff were friendly despite comms being poor with regards to the AC controls and getting the fridge fixed. The room itself was fairly small but modern and comfortable.

Great hotel in good location. Only downside was that there was no service at the roof top bar and that is not stated in the description of the hotel on the hotels.com.

This property is SO LOUD. The staff was nice, but very loud. You can gear everything they do in your room. Everytime the door opens, its loud. All night there was an alarm noise going off outside our room. No staff to fix it. In addition, there a loud night clubs nearby that have obnoxiously loud music until 430 am, which is a problem if you have a 24 hour travel day after. Even with earplugs i could not sleep.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom spacious and clean. Bed comfortable. Nice Modern Decore. Walkable from Metros and close to many dining options.

The stay was fantastic and the hotel is close to many of Athen’s attractions and nightlife. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and the staff was excellent!

The area around it is amazing. They don’t have facilities for food but picky cafe was wonderful and worth more than one visit The property however lacked functional shower- couldn’t turn the dial properly to have overhead shower work- even if you did- the glass wall is not big enough and floor floods Our room was next to alley way with people smoking The pool area is so small -it’s only for 2 hence you need to book The massage we cancelled as they don’t have a separate business inside The coffee machine wasn’t easy to use The safe was broken so they replaced it - just carried another one in Big disappointment was the TV- it’s meant to be smart TV but it’s not The original remote is lost so we had to use a generic one Thus IS NOT 4 STAR- also the only step to go into the hotel is very high and unsuitable for people with muscle weakness or going up stairs

The Residence Christokopidou was a perfect hotel for my few days in Athens. It's situated in a very central location surrounded by numerous good restaurants, bars and just a few minutes from one of the major shopping areas. It was also walking distance from the Acropolis. All of the hostesses were very friendly and helpful. I got some great recommendations for food in the area from them. The room was perfect for me and was well equipped with robes, extra toiletries and snacks. I had a little outdoor patio area which was nice to sit in during the afternoon. I also enjoyed the spa facilities. I took advantage of the pool and the sauna on my last day which you schedule with the hostess so you get the space to yourself. Next time I'll have to try a massage! Would definitely stay here again! :)

I wanted to love this place based on the money we spent on it, but regretted only paying for an economy room. We had the room right beside the lobby, and it was very noisy. We could hear people talking and coming in and out of the hotel while we were trying to sleep. Also, when we checked in there was no clean towels in our room and there was a housekeeper's rag left near the bed.. the shower was beautiful but no matter what we did (change shower head to manual, lowered the water pressure, or angle the water to the wall etc..) the water would spill all over the floor and make a mess every time we showered and made the floor a slipping hazard. We thought the indoor pool was a nice touch to the property, but when we got there it was unclean. Overall, it was a nice looking hotel but didn't function quite how we're used to in North America. Location was great though!

It was an amazing hotel for the purpose of our stay. The staff is extremely accommodating and it’s in the perfect area in the center with many restaurants nearby

If like me and a first timer, please read. I had a lot of anxiety because i didn’t know anything. This place is in perfect location to shopping, restaurants and Acropolis/Parthenon. There was a sweet young Lady, named Despina who greeted us and was very helpful over the next few days. If you are trying to figure out where to stay, stop, you found it. Parking on site was a plus for us, but i wouldn’t recipients renting a car unless like us we needed after we left for the rest of our trip. We walked to everything we needed. (And we are older)

Then location is great and it’s surprisingly quite considering it’s just a walk away from everything in the monastraki area. The staff is nice too.

terrible smell of cat's urin cover by parfum in the room 2 at our arrival . We complain but the only solution was a simple refund for leave the hotel . No proposition to assist us for at least find an other room in town .. this is not ways to resolve this kind of problems.. we are very disapointed cause we already went in this hotel this year and it wans't like that.. you can have a problem but advise your customers first before them arrival .. The front desk went in the room for realize the problem , they well said the smell was problematic but for them it was a problem of humidity.. îm not agree .. but even , you manage this situation by an other way

Great stay! Great location and just a 5 minute walk to the heart of the city center and any hop on hop off bus stop. Would definitely stay again. Very clean and staff very accommodating
